‘Gate of Heaven kindergarten
registration January 16-18
Mrs. Mary C. Tigue, principal,
announces that registration for
kindergarten classes for the 1996-
97 school year at Gate of Heaven
School will be held in the lobby of
the school Jan. 16-18 from 9:30
a.m. to 12 noon.
Eligible students must be five
years of age by Sept. 30, 1996 and
present proof of all required im-
munizations. Parents are also
asked to bring the child's Social

Gate of Heaven School is a
Catholic school under the aus-
pices of the Diocese of Scranton
and offers quality Catholic educa-
tion for grades K-8 to the children
of the Back Mountain and
Tunkhannock areas in the par-
ishes of Gate of Heaven, St.
Therese's, Our Lady of Victory, St.
Francis Cabrini, Blessed Sacra-
ment and Nativity of the Blessed
Virgin Mary.
Parishoners requiring advance
registration packets may call the
school office at 675-6566.
Financial Aid Nite at Lake Lehman Jan. 11
The Lake-Lehman Guidance Department will hold a Financial Aid
Night at the high school January 11, at 7 p.m. in the library. Parents
of seniors who are pursuing post-secondary education are encouraged
to attend.
Peg Charnick of College Misericordia will discuss specifics in filling
out financial aid forms. Federal and state grants and loans will be
explained.
Juniors and their parents are also welcome.
King's names Mayton to Dean's List
Dallas resident Danielle Mayton was recently named to the Dean's
List at King's College, Wilkes-Barre, for the Fall 1995 semester physi-
cian assistant program.
To be named to the Dean's List
average of 3.4 or higher.

Lehman freshmen
in honors band
Four freshman instrumentalists
were recently chosen to
represent the Lake-Lehman
Band at the annual Marywood
Junior High Honors Band for
Northeastern Pennsylvania.
The two day musical festival
was hosted by the music
department of Marywood
Webber, conductor of the
college wind and jazz
ensemble.

Band Festival Jan. 10-13 at the
King's offers Temple graduate programs
Residents of Northeastern
Pennsylvania may now take
Temple University courses in edu-
cational leadership this spring on
the King's College campus. The
graduate courses lead to a
master’s or doctor's degree in edu-
cation, or principal's or superin-
tendent certification.
Representatives from both
King's and Temple will hold an
Information and Registration Re-
ception January 11, from 4:30-
7:30 p.m. to provide information,
answer questions, and/or regis-
ter individuals. It will be held in
the Postupak Room of The Will-
iam G. McGowan School of Busi-
ness, North River and Union
Streets. Individuals unable to
attend the information night may
register the first night of classes.
Two 3-credit courses offered
this spring at King's are Educa-
tional Administration 651, “School
Plant,” held Thursdays from 6
p.m. until 8:40 p.m. beginning
January 18, and Educational
Administration 715, “Instruc-
tional Leadership,” Mondays from
6 p.m. until 8:40 p.m. beginning
January 22. Spring semester con-
cludes May 7, 1996. Graduate
tutition is $807 for a three-credit
course.
