tal.
Born in Madison, WI, he was
the son of the late B. Carson and
Eva Covell Barnes.
He was a graduate of New
Haven, CT. High School and
Bucknell University with a degree
in mechanical engineering.
Before retirement, in 1980, he
was employed as a sales repre-
sentative by State Equipment Co.
Plains Township, for 37 years.
He was a resident of Dallas for
the past 49 years.
He was a member of the First
Presbyterian Church in Wilkes-

achieved the rank of lieutenant
commander.
Surviving are his wife of 55

tiss; son, Jack C. Jr., Pittsburgh;
daughter, Ann, Syracuse, NY; two
grandchildren.

David MacMillan, of Noxen, died
June 13, 1995, at home.
Born in Plainsville, he was the
son of the late John and Jennie

He was a graduate of Beaumont
"schools and was a member of the

national Brotherhood of Electri-
cal Workers.
He also managed local Little
League teams.
He worked for the Noxen Tan-
nery for 30 years until it closed
and later worked as an electrician
and dairy farmer.
He served with the 109th Na-
tional Guard.
He and his wife, the former
Beulah Patton, celebrated their
60th wedding anniversary in
February.
He was preceded in death by
brothers, Jeddie and William;
. sister, Margaret Rudolph; grand-
children Howard Jr. and Debbie
Smith.
Surviving in addition to his wife
are daughters, Mrs. James
Wilson,. Tuscumbia, AL; Mrs.
Charles Lewis and Mrs. Michael
Fetchko, both ofNoxen; son, Percy,
Noxen; 18 grandchildren; 28
great-grandchildren; one great-

Michael S. Borys, 34, of
Routel 18, Pikes Creek, died June
14, 1995 at home.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was
the son of Simon and Kathleen
Leonard Borys of Pikes Creek.
He was a graduate of Lake-
Lehman High School.
He served in the United States
Army several years.
He resided in Germany for eight
years, returning to Pikes Creek in
February.
He was preceded in death by
his wife, the former Jutta Gruen,
on Jan. 22, 1995.
Surviving are a sister,
Ruthanne Coffey, Norwich, CT;
brothers, David W., Duryea; Sean
P., Dallas; maternal grandmother,
Ruth Piarote, Kingston; one niece
and one nephew. ;
Interment, St. Mary's Byzan-
tine Catholic Cemetery, Dallas.

MARION SAUL
Marion S. Saul, 78, of Laurel
Lane, Shrine Acres, Dallas, died
June 17, 1995, at home.
Born in Jenner, she was the
daughter of the late Louis and
Verna Crane Sanner.
She was a graduate of Scran-
ton Central High School and Mary
Baldwin College, Staunton, VA.
The former proprietress of the
Marion Shoppe in Kingston, she
was a former resident of Forty
Fort and Kingston and lived in
Dallas since 1965.
She was very active with the
League of Women Voters and the
United Way. She was a member of
the Women's Golf Association of
the Wyoming Valley Country Club
and its first president. She was
also a member of the Irem Temple
Country Club and the Trinity
Presbyterian Church, Dallas.
She was preceded in death by
sister, Helen Bevan; brother, Dr.
John C. Sanner.
Surviving are her husband,
Richard A.; sons, Richard A. Jr.,
Boston and Robert A., Dallas; two
grandchildren; one great-grand-
daughter.
Private interment was at the
convenience of the family.
Memorial donations may be
sent to the charity of the donor's
choice.
CATHERINE WOOD
Catherine S. Wood, 71, of
Robin's Road, Trucksville, died
June 17, 1995 in Wilkes-Barre
General Hospital.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was
the daughter of the late Nicholas
and Sophie Mahalick Soudas.
A graduate of Coughlin High
School she worked as a secretary
for the Luzerne County Court-
house, the Pressed Steel Co. and
her late husband, former state
Sen. T. Newell Wood.
She was a former resident of
Wilkes-Barre and Harrisburg.
In addition to her husband,
she was preceded in death by her
brother Constantine Soudas.
Surviving are daughters, Mrs.
Edward Zabroski, Wilkes-Barre;
Bonita Walsh, Trucksville; one
granddaughter, sister, Mae Green-
field, Charlotte Harbor, FL; broth-
ers, Michael Soudas, Avoca; John
Soudas, Binghamton, NY; ‘George
Soudas, Jacksonville, FL; Harry
Soudas, Scranton.
