Beth Ward to chair Make- a-Wish Foundation's ball Dallas resident Beth Ward has been named chairperson of the 1995 Make-A-Wish Foundation of Northeastern Pennsylvania Gala Ball, to be held February 11 at the Victoria Inns, Pittston. The theme of this year's black tie ball is “Give Your Heart to Make- A-Wish". Cocktails will begin at 6 p-m. with guest harpist Dianne O'Malley. Featured entertainment will be the local band “Hollywood”. The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Northeastern Pennsyvlania is an 11-County regional that grants wishes to children who suffer from terminal illnesses or life-threaten- ing medical conditions. Currently 18 wishes of area children outstanding. All proceeds from the 3rd Annual Gala Ball will be used to grant these wishes. Seating for the 1995 Make-A- Wish of NEPA Gala Ball is limited to 300, on a first come basis. Tick- ets for the event are $75 per per- son, with tables of 10 available. Dances at Citrus Bowl! show Beth Hartshorne, a ninth grade student at Dallas Senior High School, was selected by audition from more than 1,000 dancers to be one of 24 advanced dancers featured in the Citrus Bowl Half- time Show in Orlando this year. The advanced dancers per- formed to “Tutti Fruitti” on both sides of the center stage. Beth was also asked to dance at the recognition banquet for the performers held at the Clarion Hotel. Only three dance groups were chosen to perform at the banquet. Beth's group, “The Bobbettes” from the Northeastern PA Acad- emy of Dancing in Kingston, re- ceived a standing ovation for their dance, “Randy Lynn Rag.” Beth has studied dance for nine years with Barbara Woronko Anzalone. She has danced in four ballets and will be featured in a new ballet performed by the Children's Ballet Theater of Kingston and Northeastern PA Academy of Dancing this fall.
