Eighteen sailboats representing all parts of the lake participated. Thirty individuals were in- volved in sailing and managing the race. Great enthusiasmwas evident in all those who en- tered the race with many look- ing forward to a similar event in the future. The idea of the race was first proposed by Race Chairman, Frank Wadas. Wadas brings to his job many years of racing and cruising experience at Harveys Lake, the Chesapeake Bay and the Florida Keys. The race was held under steady winds of 6 to 8 knots originating in the west. The : course for all boats except the board boats was quadrangu- Campbell, Dawn Blom, Jack Barnes. Trophy sponsors were Grotto Pizza of Harveys Lake, Great Bags of Kingston, The Harveys Lake Protective Association and the Yacht Club. Commodore Clinton J. The Bulls will now face the Fieldhouse for the overall championship on Wednesday, Augustl4, at 6:30 p.m. Both teams have lost only one game this sum- mer and this game promises to be a thriller with the Fieldhouse team style game in contrast to the one man show in Joe Flaherty for the Bulls. DENMON Staff Writer Back Mountain 14-15 year-old teeners won by a 9-0 forfeit August 1 over East End when the game was halted by the umpires after 3 1/2 innings due to unsportsman- like conduct by the East Enders. The local team was leading 9-4 when the game was halted with Ernie Chamberlain hitting a grand slam homerun.
