Campaign will be launched by the Shavertown United Methodist Church during the Worship Serv- ices on Saturday, Aug. 26 and Sunday, Aug. 27. Keith Atherholt, Chairperson of the Campaign Committee, will make the presen- This campaign honors the Church's 100th Anniversary of its founding, to be celebrated in Sep- tember 1990. It is a capital fund drive whose goal is to raise $100,000. The purpose is to install a new gas-fired furnace and to modify the Church's total heating system for efficiency. In addition, other improvements to the Church buildings and prop- erties include: air conditioning for the sanctuary; a new garage with storage area; cleaning and re- pointing the external brickwork; a campaign barrier-free access for persons of special needs; renewing ceilings and painting the classrooms; and improving the parking lots, all recommendations from the Board of Trustees, led by John Bunney. The financial goal will be reached by Advance Gifts and by pledges.
