The annual Summer Festival offers entertainment for the entire family from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Last year, over 1000 people enjoyed the day long craft sales, food, and live entertainment all for a $1.00 attendance donation. Admis- sion is the same low price this year. Proceeds go toward helping Arts at Hayfield provide cultural programming in the Back Mountain. Entertainment this year will include a one-woman play, “Belle of Amherst,” performed by Johanna Ezell, and produced by the Germantown Theater Guild of Philadelphia. The performance will begin at 4 p.m. Bag Pipes and Highland Dancers, presented by Wes Loader, will perform traditional Highland dances and music at 3 p.m. Other performers will be the folk /rock group “Just Us” and the barbershop quartet “Cross Valley Express.” Children’s activities will include an arts and crafts table, a ballet theater and workshop, karate demonstration and workshop, face painting, and a chance to meet TV character ALF. Arts and crafts on display will include Victorian hats, hearts and handbags, ceramic pieces, wood items, stenciling, oil and acrylic painted saws, pans, wood and slate, carousel horses; fabric, handcrafted silver jewelry, folk art, furniture, baskets and, new this year, leather products, and much more.
