Edwards is candidate
for Borough Council
Ronald L. Edwards, Pole 70,
Harveys Lake has announced his
candidacy for Republican nomi-
nation to Harveys Lake Borough.
He is being endorsed by the Har-
veys Lake Executive Committee,
formerly known as the Republi-
can Five.
A graduate of Plymouth High
School, Class of 1966, Edwards
attended Wilkes College and
studied electronics at West Side
Tech Vocational School. He is
presently employed at PG&W in
Consumer Affairs. He has been
employed there for the last 22
years. Mr. Edwards is an active
member of Local 402 Utilities
Union of America; Local 140
Musicians Union; Masonic Lodge
442, and is a member of Our
Lady of Victory Church and a
member of Harveys Lake and
Back Mt. Republicans.
Mr. Edwards is married to the
former Carole A. Swinski, they
are the parents of two children.
“I'm looking forward to serv-
ing on Harveys Lake Borough
Council and am asking for your
support,” Mr. Edwards said in a
prepared press release.

Albee announces for 2nd term on Council
Robert Albee, Box 661,
Maywood Drive, Harveys Lake,
will be seeking a second term on
Harveys Lake Council. Mr. Albee
is employed by the Tunkhannock
Area School District as an eighth
grade English teacher. He also
owns a business, Bob's Bait and
Tackle Shop, at Sunset, Harveys
Lake.
Mr. Albee is married to the for-
mer Susan Benner of Kingston.
They have three children and at-
tend the Alderson United Meth-
odist Church. Besides being a
family man and businessman, he
enjoys fishing and working with
people. Currently he's a member
of the Pennsylvania State Educa-

tion Association, the Tunkhan-
nack Area Education Association,
and was former Chairperson and
founder of Harveys Lake Envi-
ronmental Advisory Council
(EVAC).
Mr. Albee is now a councilman
and has been instrumental in
accomplishing the following:
$50,000 grant for Keifer Plot,
restrooms at the access area, set-
ting up a two year study of the
algae problems of the lake.
At present he is working on
many programs that will be help-
ful to the Harveys Lake commu-
nity. Therefore, “I am excited
about serving another term on
Harveys Lake Council and pray
that the residents will support
me,” Mr. Albee said in a prepared
press statement.
Carolyn Scull, RD 3, Harveys
Lake, announces her candidacy
for Tax Collector. She is being
endorsed by the Harveys Lake
Republican Executive Commit-
tee, formerly known as the Re-
publican Five.
She is a graduate of Dallas
Area High School, and attended
Wilkes-Barre Business College.
Presently, she is a Notary Public.
Her husband, Raymond Scull
owns and operates Auto Shine
Car Sales, where she is secretary
and office manager. The Sculls
have two children and one grand-
child.

Ms. Scull is a member and
teacher at Independent Bible
Church; Teacher for Child Evan-
gelism Fellowship; and Luzerne
County Release Time. She is a
member of the Harveys Lake
Women's Club, the Back Moun-
tain Republican party and Secre-
tary of the Harveys Lake Repub-
licans.
“I believe I am an excellent
candidate for Tax Collector and
I'm excited about the prospect of
serving the citizens of Harveys
Lake Borough,” she said in a
prepared press release.

ship chairman of the Harveys
Lake Women's Club, a member
of the Back Mt. Republican Asso-
ciation and a member of the
Harveys Lake Republicans.

represent residents of Har-
veys Lake,” she said in a pre-
pared press statement.

Cooper announces for Jackson supervisor
Grant R. Cooper of Newhart
Road announces his candidacy
for the office of Supervisor on the
Republican ticket in Jackson
Township.
Mr. Cooper is married to the
former Sandra Phillips. The father
of three children and one grand-
child, he was born and raised in
Jackson Township.
Mr. Cooper graduated from
Lake-Lehman High School in the
Business Course.
He is a member of Jackson
Township Volunteer Fire Depart-
ment and the Huntsville United
Methodist Church.
Mr. Cooper is interested in the
future of Jackson Township. “I
will do my best to serve the people
of Jackson Township with hon-
esty and integrity,” he said in a
