DENMON | Staff Writer In less than 45 minutes, mem- bers of the Kingston Township zoning board dispensed with the | items on the agenda at the April 3 | meeting at the township munici- | pal building. ~ | Bill Bachman, in the absence of | chairman Justin Bergman, pre- ‘sided over the meeting. Also at- | tending were zoning board mem- | ber, Richard Staub, zoning officer | | Ralph Anthony and zoning board | solicitor, Atty. Jerome Cohen. | A request for a step-back vari- | ance by George Tucker, 25 Roushey | St., Shavertown, so he could con- | struct a deck and a swimming pool was tabled due to Tucker's ab- | | sence as well the absence of any |others from his neighborhood. | Zoning officer Anthony told the | board that Tucker was in Philadel- phia on business and was unable to return in time for the meeting. Vincent Angelicola, Harveys Za Lake, requested a variance for a non-conforming lot at 122 E. Center St., Shavertown. Angelicola and his attorney William J. McCall, presented a proposal to the board of the proposed structure Angeli- cola wanted to build on the prop- erty he purchased in October, 1986. Atty. McCall explained that Angelicola planned to combine Lots 30 and 31 to make the 60 feet necessary to build a single family dwelling. Angelicola said that a home presently on the property would remain but a home in the back is 45 percent demolished and at the present time is being used for stor- age. The property was purchased by Angelicola from James King, who inherited it from his father Chauncey King who transferred it to him prior to the ordinance now in effect in Kingston Township. Everill Chadwick, 124 East Center St., Shavertown, and Den- nis Dobinick, who said his land is on the north side of Angelicola objected to Angelicola’s building because they contended their prop- erty would be injured by big dro- poffs because of a large ledge of solid rock on the Angelicola prop- erty. Angelicola said he was a con- tractor and he would not build a house on the property until he had an engineer determine whether it was feasible. After a consultation between the zoning board members and the solicitor, Bachman told Angelicola, that the board members would walk the property with the zoning officer and announce their deci- sion at the May 1 meeting at which | time Chairman Bergman would be present.
