were selected after auditioning at Scranton Central High

Missionary Conference at the
Church from Feb. 26 - 28. The
principal speaker will be Rev.
Ronald L. Self. Rev. Self and his
wife, Christine, are missionaries
in Argentina, under the Associa-
tion of Baptists for World Evan-
gelism (ABWE) and have
- served on the field seven years.
The public is invited to attend
the services and activities for
the Conference. There will be
Friday, Saturday and Sunday
evening services at 7 p.m. and a
Sunday morning service at 11
am. There will be a Men's
Fellowship Prayer Breakfast at
Bosvcov’s at 8 a.m. on Satur-
day, Feb. 27, and a “pot luck”
Fellowship Dinner at 5:30 p.m.
that same evening. Reservtions
are recommended for the break-
fast and dinner. Anyone inter-

BACK MOUNTAIN BASE-
BALL INC. will conduct its final
registration for Little League
hardball, girls softball, and
teeners league baseball on Sat-
urday, Feb. 27, from 10 a.m.
until 12 noon at the Dallas Boro
Building.
All players registering for the
first time must present proof of
age and, all children must be
accompanied by an adult. Man-
agers, coaches, umpires and
other volunteers are needed by
the organization and interested
individuals can sign up for these
duties at registration.

United Methodist Church,
will consist of pancakes, sau-

WILKES-BARRE GENERAL
HOSPITAL will hold an 8-week
series of Childbirth Preparation
Classes beginning on Mary 7.
The classes, held Mondays from
7 to 9 p.m., are taught by
registered nurses from Gen-
eral’s Obstetrics Department.
Classes are free-of-charge.
Classes should be attended in
conjunction with regular visits
to a physician and are open to
all area couples and single par-
ents regardless of the hospital
in which they plan to deliver.

and her family have returned
from one fabulous week in Dis-
~ neyworld. If you watched Dan
Gallagher on Channel 28 Friday
~ happy 7 year old little girl
having her birthday wish come
true live at Disneyworld. Amber
is’ a victim of cancer, faces
amputation of her leg and has
spots on her lungs . She still
smiles, enjoys life and asks for
~ everyone to pray for her.
Amber says “I love people who
~ care about me; it means they
love me.” A love fund has been -
~~ established by friends of the
Nicely family. Contributions are

spending a week in Mercy Hos-
pital. Pat had a real scare but
everything is working out well
for her and she’s feeling better

returned home from a two week
vacation in Florida. Scott was in
Florida on business and Pat
joined him the second week to
make it a pleasure trip.

City. Arlene joined her daughter
Jacquie and together they
enjoyed such shows as celebrity

Lehman graduate has gone to
Fort Dix, New Jersey. Colin
joined the Army Reserves and
will spend 4 months of training
at Fort Dix. Good luck Colin, as

weeks enjoying the beautiful
sunshine of Florida. The Rogers
visited Disneyworld, Epcot
Center and spent most of their
time in Naples for a lovely
winter vacation.

REMEMBER SANDY DAUB-
ERT? 15 years ago on March 14, .
Sandy underwent a kidney
transplant. The entire Back
Mountain joined together to
raise funds for the operation. In ,
just 8 weeks we raised over
$18,000, a fund raising drive that
was unbelievable. Now, 15 years
later, almost to the month, the
fund has finally been exhausted.
Burl Updyke, Mickey Boyle and
myself were the trust fund coor-
dinators. When the first pre-
scription of Imuran was pur-
chased 15 years ago the cost
was $9.00 per 100 pills. The last
bill we paid was $65.00 per 100
pills. Some increase! Sandy is
married to Jimmy Cook, they
have two healthy beautiful

active in her girls’ activities.
She serves as a Girl Scout
~ leader to Troop 658 in Lehman
and husband Jim is very active
in community affairs also. Jim
just recently became a member
of the Dallas Fall Fair Board.
It’s with great price and plea-
sure that I can say that the fund
is now closed and we the Back
Mountain have this beautiful
family, they belong to us all.
