PA CPA’s sponsoring student competition The Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) is sponsoring its 13th annual Student Manuscript Competition. Robert C. Light- burn, CPA, chairman of the ‘Pennsylvania CPA Journal’ Editorial Board, related that, “The purpose of the contest is to encourage college students to address those issues which will. affect the future of the account- ing profession.” The competition is open to all junior, senior and graduate stu- dents majoring in accounting at Pennsylvania colleges and uni- versities. A committee com- posed of EPAs in public accounting, industry, govern- - ment and education will review the manuscripts. Cash awards of $1,000, $600 and $400 respec- tively will be awarded for the three best articles. In addition, accounting societies which submit the winning manuscripts on behalf of individual students will receive a matching grant.
