Arthur Kitchen trapped a magnificent wildcat
at Mountain Springs. The bounty on the wildcat
was $15. :
Dallas-Shavertown Water Company customers
service was resumed following a broken pump
over the Christmas holidays. Residents of Spen-
cer, Parrish and Shavertown wells were without
water on Christmas.
Married - Evelyn Deater and Paul Sabon.
Deaths - Mrs. Frank Traver, Noxen.

Rev. Herbert E. Frankfort, St. Paul’s
Lutheran Church, Shavertown, resigned. Pastor
for the past ten years, Frankfort had succeeded
Dr. Elson Ruff who had been pastor of St. Paul’s
from its founding in 1925.

Dallas Homestead.
An attempt to rob Kuehns Drug Store was
foiled when Mr. Kuehn discovered an intruder
while fixing his fires.

The Kazokas and Strenfel families, working
together on their Christmas display at Lake
Silkworth won first place for the second year in
the Lehman outdoor lighting contest.

vania State Education Association annual meet-
ing in Harrisburg. Edgar Hughes, Jr., Robert
Dolbear and Anthony Marchakitus reported that
speakers were informative and interesting.

returned to the office of Dallas Township;
Edward Hall was supervisor chairman in Kings-
ton Twp.

REMEMBERING
MAUDE BRONSON - 77, of
Pikes Creek, died December 22
in the Wilkes-Barre General
Hospital. A lifelong resident of
Pikes Creek, she was employed
as a dietician at the Nanticoke
State Hospital and the Retreat
State Hospital, Hunlock Creek,
for 35 years, retiring 10 years
ago.
WILLIAM LOPUHOVSKY -
81, formerly of Queen of Peace
Road, Harveys Lake, died
December 21 in the Carpenter
Nursing Home, Idetown, where
he had been a guest since July.
Prior to his retirement, he was
self-employed as a farmer and
previously served as a school
bus driver for the Lake-Lehman
School District.’
ROXIE SIGLIN - 91, of Island
Road, Noxen, died December 20
in Wilkes-Barre General hospi-
tal. Born in Kunkle, she lived in
Noxen most of her life.
NANCY EVANS - formerly of
Wyoming Avenue, Kingston, a
guest at the Meadows Nursing
Home, Dallas, died in Mercy
Hospital, Wilkes-Barre. Born in
Plainsville, she was employed
by the Singer Sewing Co., Phila-
delphia, until her retirement.
MAY DELL DAVIS - 249 N.
Maple St., Kingston, a native of
Dallas, died December 19 at her
home. She lived in Dallas for
many years before moving to
Kingston where she resided for
the past 15 years.
