American Cancer Society.

“TWINGE,” Wilkes College’s

CHORISTERS will perform on

Candlelight Tour being held in
the Swetland Homestead, 885

The Wyoming Historical and
Geological Society is conducting
the tours on Friday, Saturday
and Sunday, December 12, 13
and 14. Tours will be open to the
public on December 12 and 13
from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Decem-
ber 14 from 2 to 4 p.m.

THE SHAVERTOWN VOLUN-
TEER FIRE DEPARTMENT is
currently conducting its annual
Christmas Sand Candle Sale.
Candles are $2.50 per dozen.
Residents may purchase their
candles during the next three
weekends at the ACME Market
located in the Shavertown Shop-
ping Center. Candles will also
be available on Monday even-
ings only at the Fire Hall which
is located on North Main Street
in Shavertown.
Anyone with specific questions
regarding the sale should con-
tact a member of the fire com-
pany. All proceeds will benefit
the Shavertown Volunteer Fire
Department.
THE STAFF OF THE Wyo-
ming Historical and Geological
Society will host a volunteer
Christmas Tea on Saturday,
Dec. 13, at 2 p.m. in the
museum building, 69 S. Franklin
St. Individuals interested in
learning more about the
Society’s volunteer program as
well as all current volunteers
are invited to attend.

Luzerne County Community Col-

presentation
Dallas High School has played
host for an informal presenta-
tion of career choices in the
fields of communications. Such
areas discussed were public
relations, rhetoric and public
speaking telecommunications,
journalism, and extra-curricu-
lar activites related to this area.

The Disciples of Christ of the
Huntsville Christian Church
have planned a variety of activi-
ties to help celebrate Christmas.
On December 12 at 7 p.m.
Circle 3 of the Christian
Women’s Fellowship from the
church will host a Christmas
Party at the church for the
children. Each child is asked to
bring a wrapped, non-perishable
gift of food to be used for needy
families.
The Children’s Division of the
Church’s Sunday School Dept.
will present a Christmas Pro-
gram on Sunday, Dec. 21 imme-
diately following the worship
service. Skits and music will
emphasize the Christmas
season.
On December 24, at 7 p.m.,
the church will hold its’ Christ-
mas Eve Service. This program
is a candlelit service and one of
the most moving of the year.
