DeRojas, M.D. was recently notified by the Ameri- can Board of Surgery that he has successfully completed the Certifying Examination and is now a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery. Dr. DeRojas was graduated from Bishop Hoban High School in 1972, and from LaSalle University in Philadel- phia in 1976, Cum Laude. He earned his Medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine in 1980. Dr. DeRojas completed his surgical residency at Temple University Hospital in Phila- delphia in 1985. He was Chief Surgical Resident between 1984 and 1985. In addition, Dr. DeRojas has completed a Vascular Surgery Fellowship at Temple University Hospital. Dr. DeRojas is associated with Dan F. Kopen, M.D. for the practice of Vascular and General Surgery at 480 Pierce JUAN J. DeROJAS, M.D. Street, Kingston, Pa. Both Doctors serve on the staffs of Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre, Nesbitt Memorial Hospital, Wilkes-Barre General Hospi- tal, Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital and the Nanticoke State General Hospital. Elementary School recently was a huge success for Boy Scout Troop 331 of Harveys Lake as five new members were wel- comed to the troop. They are Richard Faux, Leonard Azarav- ich, Matt Collura, Kyler Hadsall and Jessie Hadsall. The troop members and their families met at Rickett’s Glen on October 12 and hiked the trail and had a cookout at the picnic area. Troop members spent October 17, 18 and 19 at the Fall Camporee at Camp Acahela. On October 29, the group held a Halloween party at the Lake School. To join the troop, simply attend a meeting any Wednes- dasy evening at 7:30 p.m. at the Lake-Noxen Elementry School and find out what a competitive and learning experience Scout- ing can be.
