Sunday, November 16. This is
the first child for Marcie and
her husband, John.

Samuels’ daughter, Karen.

form the excitement in their
voices when they speak of her,
they’re both going to have an
awfully difficult time waiting.

ROXANNE OPALICKI, pro-
prietor of Heart of Fashion,
Dallas, found out just how small
the world really is the other
day.
Engaged in a telephone con-
versation with a gentleman who
is employed as the vice-presi-
dent of the ‘Personal’ com-
pany, a women’s clothing com-
pany, Roxanne was giving him
the address of her business and
attempting to explain where
Dallas, Pa. is located.
Much to her surprise, no
explanation as to the location of
Dallas, Pa. was necessary. The
gentleman had grown up on
Machell Avenue in Dallas.

I SAW a bumper sticker the
other day that brought a smile
to my face and I thought I'd
pass it on to you this week:
“When you gripe about the
farmer, don’t talk with your
mouth full.”
Makes sense to me!

MRS. WILLIAM R. LEWIS of
the West Side called our office
the other day to tell us about a
book she had found in her house
recently.
The book, which is a baby
book, is about a baby whose last
name was ‘‘Plass’’ and who was
born in 1891. Mrs. Lewis thought
that maybe if there are any
relatives of the Plass family
living in the Back Mountain
seeing the book. Anyone who
would like to read it can call me
and I can get in touch with Mrs.
Lewis for them.
Mrs. Lewis is the mother of
Betty Brokenshire and Blod
Shaffer, both Back Mountain
residents.

A FEW WORDS OF
ENCOURAGEMENT to Dallas
Post columnist Jean Hillard
who just returned to work after
undergoing heart surgery at
Nesbitt Memorial Hospital in
Kingston.
Jean, who surprised the heck
out of all of us by checking inte
and returning home before any
of us ever knew what was hap-
pening.
Admitting she’s a better
person when her mind is busy,
Jean returned to her job at the
cosmetics counter at Stapinski’s
Pharmacy in Dallas on Monday.
Here’s to you, Jean - hope
you're feeling better by the time
you read this.
