nees continued to press and, at
4:00 into the period, Mike Rich-
ards off an assist by D. Morris,
put one past Seminary’s goalie
Jeff Metz to give the Mountai-
ners their 2-1 win.
Earlier in the week, Dallas
and Bishop Hoban played a
scoreless game for the first
three periods then Coach John
McCafferty made some changes
in the team’s offense and Jim
Lister scored just one minute
into the final period. He kicked
theball past the Argents goal-
keeper for the score.
At the 17:00 mark, Mike Rich-
ards, with an assist by Eric
Marshall, scored to give the
Mountaineers a 2-0 lead and the
win.
Dallas had eight corner shots
and Bishop Hoban two. Dallas
had 22 shots at goal while
Hoban had only seven. Goalie
John Sheehan had 10 saves for
Dallas, Joe Furman had 16
saves for the Argents.
Last Monday, Lake-Lehman
was eliminated from competi-
2, by Wallenpaupack, who won
its 12th consecutive game. Wal-
lenpaupack picked up its first
two scores on defensive errors
by the Knights. The first one
came when a Knight defender
tried to kick the ball to his
goalkeeper Mark Rogowski to
set up a goal kick but the kick
went to the left. Wallenpau-
pack’s Matt Karpiak got to the
ball and scored to give his team
a 1-0 lead. At the close of the
quarter, Lehman picked up a
penalty which gave Wallenpau-
pack’s Bob McGinnity a penalty
kick which he converted to give
his team a 2-0 lead.
With the exception of the
errors, the Knights controlled
the first half but were unable to
get by goalie John Newlin who
turned back eight of their goal
shots. Newlin continued to turn
away shots in the second half
but the Knights managed to
score twice on Rick Parry’s
goal off an assist by Chris
Scharff in the third period to
make the score 4-1 and on
Parry’s score off an assist by Al
Manzoni in the fourth period.
Tom Sifko scored the third
goal for Wallenpaupack at 4:46
into the third period and
McGinnity scored his second
goal of the game at 6:51 into the
Matt Karpiak.
The Knights outshot their
opponents 24-10 on shots at goal
and nine corners to one for
Wallenpaupack. Wallenpau-
pack’s John Newlin had 14
saves, Knight Mark Rogowski
had four.

Youth Center will conduct its
24th Annual Open Swim and
Diving Meet, Saturday, Nov. 22
and Sunday, Nov. 23, 1986.
Boscov’s Department Store

one of the finest events of its
kind throughout Northeastern
Pennsylvania.

the top 3 entries in each event
and certificates awarded to all
