First season held
More than 70 Back Mountain youngsters participated in the
first Penn State Youth Soccer League, sponsored by the Penn
State Wilkes-Barre Booster Club. Some of the participants are,

orations for their classroom.
They have also started their
collection for the missions. On
Tuesday, Oct. 14, the first grade
took its first field trip to
Frances Slocum Park.
3-203 - These third grade stu-
dents have been making “Mr.
and Mrs. Clock’ for math. This
will help them learn to tell time.
Kendra Reid celebrated her
ninth birthday on October 19.
4-205 and 4-206 - The fourth
grades are doing their first
research report for English. The
report is to be done on the
mission country Mrs. Hiller
assigned them. They will
research and make a drawing of
their country.
5-207 - Mrs. Albert’s fifth
grade had a mission auction.
They earned $70 selling books,
games, stuffed animals and the
like. Many other classes are
also having these auctions. Mrs.
Albert is very happy with all the
cooperation from the students
and teachers for this project.
