VRE AN RR School WALTER LASECKI, cross coun- try runner extraordinaire, has just College. At present, he is debating acceptance, but he is extremely pleased. No doubt Walter’s parents, Paul and Jane Lasecki of Dallas, are happy, too. (Don’t forget sisters, Debbie, Kathy and Diane and the dog, Brutus...they’re pleased, also!) The Lasecki household is pleased. No matter where he goes to college, Walter wants to major in Corporate Law and he fully intends to keep running. -0- TRUYEN HUYNH is the son of Cang Gia and Ngoc Tia Nguyen of 52 Hunt St., Dallas. At Dallas, Truyen has been a member of the wrestling team the past three years. Just this year he has joined the cross country team, and plans to join the track team this spring. Further, Truyen was recently honored by his classmates when he was elected to the Student Council in September. And last summer, he was also honored upon his accept- ance to the Pennsylvania Gover- nor’s School for Agriculture at Penn State. Obviously, his stay at the Penn State Main Campus influenced him because he hopes to return there next fall, majoring in some type of engineering. -0- HEATHER PITCAVAGE is the daughter of Myron and Mary Therese Pitcavage of 70 East Center St., Shavertown. Heather is a member of the Chorus, vice-presi- dent and section leader of the Chor- isters, a member of the Chanson- aires and a member of our newest group, the Madrigals. She also serves as librarian for the Chorus Library. When she’s not singing, Heather enjoys working on the Dallas Senior High newspaper, the Mountaineer. And for the past three years, Heather has been a member of the Silks, and this year, has obtained captain. She plans to attend college around home, majoring in Elemen- tary Education. -0- MAURA MUNDY is the daughter of Hugh and Rita Mundy, Lehman Ave. in Dallas. She has been involved in two plays and one musi- cal at Dallas, and also one produc- tion at the Wilkes-Barre Little Thea- ter. She has plans to go out for Senior Steering this fall. She has volunteered her time in various charity organizations including the St. Vincent dePaul Soup Kitchen. In the past she has been recognized for her artwork in the Boscov’s Scholas- tic Art Competition. She plans to attend college, majoring in Theater Arts. -0- MARTIN BARRY is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Barry of 43 Woodlawn Drive, Dallas. When he’s not working at Acme Markets in Dallas, Martin enjoys downhill skiing. After graduation Martin plans to attend college to major in Business and Computers. 0 STEFANIE MICHAEL is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Michael of 23 Woodcliff Drive, Dallas. Stefanie is a member of the Drama Club, Honor Society and play construction crew. When not involved in these pre- vious activities, Stefanie evolves into “Athletic Woman’’ and spends much of her time on the hockey field and track. In fact last year Stefanie was a member of the Dis- trict Championship hockey team, and also placed third during track Districts in the 800 meter run. In the summer Stefanie likes to play tennis and stay actively involved with her Church Youth Group in which she proudly holds the office of Youth Representative for the Administrative Council. Within this council young people make plans to travel to Virginia to work on the ASP which stands for the Appalachian Service Project. -0- PAUL NIZNIK is the son of Paul and Ann Marie Niznik of 81 Tunk- hannock Highway in Dallas. Paul is a member of the Chorus and the boy’s Chorister’s section leader. He works as a nurses aid Physical Therapy Technician at Wyoming Valley Health Care in Plains. After graduation from Dallas, Paul plans to earn a B.S. degree in Nursing, which will hopefully lead to a job as a Registered Physical Therapist (RPT.) In his free time, Paul likes listening to music, party- ing, and participating in the Martial Arts. -0- KIM MORGAN is the daughter of Richard and Anastasia Morgan. Her family resides on Krispin Road in Wyoming. Kim’s school activities include playing piccolo and flute for the band and participating in year- book. When she’s not at band prac- tice or studying at the Wilkes Library, Kim enjoys skiing, bike riding, horseback riding and going dancing with Maura. After graduation, Kim plans to attend college to major in nursing. Her top choices for college are University of Nevada, Las Vegas or Penn State. As a final comment, Kim noted that she has two goals for this year, to pass Mr. Helgemo’s Chem 1I class and to get a car for Christmas. (Hint, hint, mom and dad!) -0- KRISTEN McHENRY is the daughter of William and Maude McHenry, Hillside Ave., Trucks- ville. Kristen participates in band, chorus and yearbook. This year, Kristen has the distinction of being drum major of the Dallas Marching Band. In her free time, she likes to bowl and go to the movies. After high school, Kristen plans to attend college majoring in business admin- istration. ~0- CONGRATULATIONS to the Dallas Marching Mountaineer Band, who won first place, Class I at the Lake-Lehman ‘March of Champi- ons.” The band received awards for best music, best marching and best band front. Lehman earned its highest score of the season — ‘'88.3"" — and not only was best in its group, but was judged best competing band overall. The band also was awarded best front in its group.
