Two men injured
Two men received minor injuries as a result of a two-car collision along Route 309 in Dallas late
Sunday night. Treated and released from the Nesibtt Memorial Hospital in Kingston were
Stephen Sudosky, RD 6, Dallas, and Joseph Podskoch, Jr., of 210 Kossack St., Swoyersville.
According to police reports Sudosky was traveling south on Route 309 when he attempted to
turn left onto Main Street. Podskach, who was traveling North, said he did see Sudosky’s turn
signal but thought he was going to wait until he went by before making the turn when he pulled
in front of him. Both men were taken to to the hospital by the Dallas ambulance.

Women injured
Two Back Mountain women were slightly injured after the cars in which they were riding collided
in Lehman Township Sunday afternoon. Treated and released from the Nesbitt Memorial
Hospital were Cheryl Ann Gavigan, 19, of 100 Ridge St., Shavertown, and Victoria E.
Cadwalader, 37, of RD 2, Dallas. According to state police at Wyoming, Gavigan was traveling
north on township Rt. 795 behind a truck when she then turned into a driveway leading into the
Lehman campus of Penn State University. In the process of making the turn, however, she hit
the Cadwalader vehiéle. Both women were taken to the hospital by the Lehman ambulance.

Samuel L. Soltis has been named
Administrative Officer at Wilkes-
Barre General Hospital, according
to Chief Executive Officer Thomas
P. Saxton.
Soltis will assume administrative
responsibilities for the Cardiology,
Neurophysiology and Physical Med-
icine departments and will also be
responsible for specific planning
and administrative activities,
including hospitalwide accredita-
tions and reviews, surveys and leg-
islative issues. He will also establish
a number of specific hospital
projects and services.
A graduate of The Ohio State
University, where he earned a
master’s degree in health adminis-
tration, Soltis also holds an under-
graduate degree in accounting from
Oral Roberts University in Tulsa,
Oklahoma. He recently completed a
two-year adminsitrative fellowship
at General Hospital and is a 1986
graduate of Leadership Wilkes-
Barre.
Soltis is a nominee of the Ameri-
can College of Healthcare Execu-
tives and is a member of the
Healthcare Financial Management
Association, Hospital Management
Forum of Northeastern Pennsyl-
vania and the American Hospital
Association.
Soltis is a native and resident of
Shavertown.
