The Kicks beat the Roughnecks 3- 1 with fine performances by Kick goalkeeper, John Gosart. Team members, Jason Turner, Eric J Ursiak, and Jason Rogers scored for the Kicks boosting their seasson record to 5 wins, 1 loss and 1 tie. The Cosmos came on strong after a rainout to beat the Rowdies 4-0. Backs Tina Hite, Jennifer Rosenthal and Jason Detrich set up scores by Fran Hoover, David Fisher and David Podehl. The Sockers scored over the Sting 6-2, with Eric Stagoski scoring three goals, teammate Greg Burak Kkick- ing in two more, and Neil Keiser cleaning up with one. Rob Jemio and Eric McDonough scored for the Sting. Remem- ber daylight savings time ends the The Back Mountain Youth Basket- ball Organization will hold its player registration for the upcoming 1986-87 instructional season. Sign- ups will be held on Friday, Oct. 17 and Friday, Oct. 24, at the Ameri- can Legion Post, Dallas, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. boys and girls from the fourth through seventh grades, and is geared for the child interested in learning the game of basketball. Instructions will be held on Wednes- day evenings at the Dallas Jr. High gym beginning November 5 with two sessions each evening. October 17 and 24 will be the only two dates to register for the pro- gram. No registrations will be accepted after Oct. 24. Registration fee is $12 .per child with each participant receiving a basketball T-shirt for the program. The season concludes in February with a pizza party and awards for all partici- pants. Volleyball champs The Fourth Annual Luzerne County Recreation Department College Women’s Volleyball Tournament was held recently at the Wilkes College Gym in Wilkes-Barre with Wilkes College emerging as the Champs with College Misericordia as runners-up. The other College team participating was the Luzerne County Community College. Each team played a round robin best of three games with all games played to 15 points. Following the Tournament, individual trophies were presented to the Champs, Wilkes College and to the runners-up, College Misericordia, by Joe Gula, Sports Supervisor of the Luzerne County Recreation Department.
