ROBERT E. BUDIN
ROBERT EARL BUDIN, M.D.,
was recently appointed to Wilkes-
Barre General Hospital’s medical
staff as a clinical and anatomic
pathologist in the hospital’s Labora-
tory Medicine Department.
A native of Philadelphia, Budin
received his bachelor’s degree,
summa cum laude, from the Uni-
versity in 1976 and his medical
degree from the Pennsylvania State
University College of Medicine in
1980. He completed his internship
and residency training in pathology
at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, Bal-
timore, Maryland. He is certified by
the American Board of Pathology in
anatomic and clinical pathology.
Budin and his wife, Diane Alison
Lowe, M.D., reside in Truckville
with their daughter, Leah.

Airman JOHN ‘J. BAKER, son of
Mr. and Mrs. John F. Baker, of RD
1, Sweet Valley, has graduated from
the U.S. Air Force aircraft mainte-
nance course at Sheppard Air Force
Base, Texas.
During the course, students were
taught aircraft maintenance funda-
mentals to repair and service one-
and two engine jet aircraft. Mainte-
nance management and documenta-
tion was also taught to assess air-
craft readiness capability.
Graduates of the course earned
credits toward an associate degree
through the Community College of
the Air Force.

JEAN M. ZALESKAS, RD 2, Box
157, Harveys Lake, was among 166
students who received degrees from
East’ Stroudsburg University during
commencement exercises held
August 22.
Zaleskas received a Bachelor of
Science degree in Recreation Man-
agement.

ating from the Officer Candidate
school, Fort Benning, Ga.

Summer is surely over when
school begins. At Trinity Nursery
School we have already held our
orientation.

One thing
that happens to
every student
in the early
grades is that
they bring
home lots of
papers. Many
moms put the
bh Se 25 papers up on
KINGSBURY the refrigera-
tor, but: a
refrigerator can only hold so many
papers and then the problem of
what to throw out arises.
My sister solved this problem for
me when she bought my son a
bulletin board for his room. In this
way he can display what papers he
wishes to, and get rid of those he no
longer needs to make room for new
papers.

Lourene and Chuck Reynolds and
their sons Bill, Dan, Marty and
Sean, New Goss Manor, have
returned from a trip to Ireland
where they had a great time visiting
with her sister-in-law Lori. They do
arrangements in both silk and real
flowers. Some of their creations are
on display at Pickett’s Charge.

Father John Bendik, chaplain at
College Misericordia, has been
named pastor of Our Lady of the
Snows, Clarks Summit. A friend to
many Back Mountain residents as
well as to the Misericordia students,
he will be missed.

Congratulations to Carol Sitar,
Huntsville Road, who has been
named to the School Board of the
Scranton Diocese. Carol is a former
teacher and the mother of five
children. She and her family belong
to Gate of Heaven Church.

Todd Butcher and his mother,
Susan, New Goss Manor, have
returned from a fun-filled vacation
in Cape May, N.J. Sharing in the
fun were Grandma and Grandpa
Fisher, who also live in New Goss
Manor.
relatives from both sides of the
family. The Reynolds spent two
weeks taking in the sites of Dublin;
County Galway, Connenara in West-
ern Ireland and the Lakes of Kil-
larny. They all kissed the Blarney
Stone, enjoyed seeing Trinity Col-
lege, and visited lots of castles.
The true luck of the Irish was
with them as they had good weather
for their touring.

the other day. It was nice to see
Linda Gaylord (the former Linda
Reed) and her two children. Linda
has gone into the florist business
