Safety first
The 1986-87 school year will begin
for all students in the Dallas School
District on Sept. 3, Frank Galicki,
assistant principal of the Dallas
Senior High School, announced.
The professional staff of the
Dallas Schools will participate in an
in-service program Sept. 2.
The high school begins at 8 a.m.
and dismisses at 2:56 p.m. Parents
are requested to consult the bus
routes published in the newspapers
to determine their child’s bus
assignment and departure points.
Any concerns regarding bus trans-
portation should be addressed to
Susan Farr, bus coordinator, at the
Dallas School District Administra-
tion Offices, Church Street, Dallas.
All Dallas Senior High School
seniors and juniors should consult
the bulletin boards listings, in the
cafeteria, and report to their
assigned homerooms at 8 a.m.
Dallas Senior High School sopho-
mores should report to the high
school auditorium. Secondary stu-
dents who have not registered for
school should report to the building
office of their respective schools.
The school lunch program will
begin on Sept. 3, the first day of
school is a full day session. Parents
are reminded that the cost of the
student lunch is 95 cents for second-
ary students.
Coles
announce
Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence B.
Coles, Broomall, announce the
engagement of their daughter,
Kimberly Ann to K. Gary Kirk,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth G.
Kirk, Dallas.
Miss Coles is a 1982 graduate of
Marple Newtown Senior High
School and will graduate with a
B.S. degree in Secondary Educa-
tion from Bloomsburg University
in December, 1986.
Kirk is a 1982 graduate of
Dallas High School and gradu-
ated from Bloomsburg Univer-
sity in May, 1986 with a B.S.
degree in Business Administra-
tion. He is a staff accountant for
Parente, Randolph, Orlando,
Carey and Associates in Wilkes-
Barre, Pa.

Service awards :
Nesbitt Memorial Hospital recently honored 168 employees at a Service Awards Dinner Dance
at the Irem Temple Country Club in Dallas. Those employed by Nesbitt for five, 10, 15, and 20
years of service received service award pins. Staff members with 25 years of service were
presented pins and engraved silver trays. Those with more than 25 years were honored with
$100 bonds, while individuals for 30 and more years received $250 savings bonds. Some staff

Residents of the Meadows Apartments, Dallas recently attended a Hawaiian Luau on the
