WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 27, 1986 By CHARLOT M. DENMON Staff Correspondent Bishop O'Reilly Coach Ron Rybak is no longer coaching at Dallas, but each day he runs through practice with his varsity football team, he is in contact with Back Mountain residents. In addition to a group of young fresh- men who will be playing on a jayvee team this season, Rybak has seven var- sity players from the Back Mountain area. “These seven kids are dedicated,’’ said Rybak. “With the exception of Chris Kelley who is a senior, the others are young and need experience but they are working hard and they are dedicated. Tim Rismondo and Bob Skursky are juniors and are becoming outstanding players. Tim Rismondo will be our ace on the line and Dave Olshaw, also a junior is doing a good job for us in the back field,” said Rybak. The remaining three boys working out for varsity positions are sophomores Russ Bigus, Mike Rakos and Mike Mas- cali. “These boys are young but they want to play football,” said Rybak. ‘“They are very coachable and work hard at prac- tice. When one of the coaches point out mistakes and explain what they should do, these kids do it. Last season proved to these kids that they can win and these boys are out to prove they can do it.” Rybak said he had only eight seniors returning from last season and four of these, Dennis Hlavec, Carmen Malatino, Jim Heffers and Joseph Hargadon will be the nucleus on which he will build this season’s team. Hlavec is the only sea- soned veteran Rybak has returning but the others have had some action and their enthusiasm and hard work makes up for lack of experience. He is especially pleased with the ability the Back Mountain boys are developing and believes they are aided by the desire they can play as well if not better than their Back Mountain neighbors on the public schools in that area. “I had Tim Rismondo’s brother last season,” said Rybak, “And he did a good job for us. I believe Tim is going to be even better with the progress he is making. He's probably trying to prove himself to his brother. “If our kids play as well as they are doing in practice we should surprise a lot of the teams in our division. The team has the ability to be competitive,” said Rybak.
