James Evans, RD 1, Box 26, Harveys Lake was charged with driving under the influence after he rammed into a car driven by Sharon F. Jennings, RD 1, Box 22, Dallas. According to police reports, Jen- nings was traveling south on Rt. 39 when she attempted to make a left hand turn onto N. Main St. Evans, who was also heading south behind her, attempted to swerve to the right to avoid contact, but was unsuccessful. Neither person was injured in the mishap, although Evans’ 1979 Olds- mobile Cutlass had to be towed. Romans 10:13 Ray Turner Ray W. Turner, Sr., 79, of 1036 Bentley Dr., Naples, Fla., died Friday, Aug. 22, 1986 in Naples Community Hospital. Born in Newport Township, Mr. Turner was the son of the late Thomas W. and Fannie Womelsdorf Turner. He was a former resident of Forty Fort, the Back Mountain area, Marco Island, Fla., and, for the past month, Naples, Fal., A graduate of Newport township High School and the University of Pennsylvania, Class of 1928, he was a veteran of World War 11, serving in the navy with the rank of Lieu- tenant Commander. Mr. Turner was a former presi- dent of the J.L. Turner Company, mechanical contractors, from 1951 until his retirement in 1972. Mr. Turner and his wife, the former Ruth Evans, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1983. Surviving in addition to his wife are sons, Ray W. Jr., Orange; Neil E., Idetown; J. Lee, Shavertown; nine grandchildren; two great gran- daughters; brother, Thomas J., Shavertown; sister, Mrs. Dorothy Hedden, Sweet Valley. John Naylis John P. Naylis, of 645 Park Ave., Shavertown, died Sunday afternoon, Aug. 24, 1986 in the Nesbitt Memo- rial Hospital, where he had been a patient since Friday. born in Kingston, July 6, 1937, he was the son of the late Patrick Leo and Mary Tierney Naylis. A graduate of Edwardsville High School, class of 1955, he served in the U.S. Navy in the Korean conflict in 1956. Prior to retiring in August 1985, he had been assistant manager of the Acme Market in Dallas and employed by Acme for 33 years. He was prceded in death by a brother, Joseph, in 1982. Surviving are his wife, the former Lorelle Jenkins; son, John P. Jr., at home; brother, Charles, Edwards- ville; sister, Mrs. James (Marga- ret) McCurdy, Pittsburgh. W. Kawalkevitz Walter (Kulcavage) Kawalkevitz, 74, of Sunset Terrace, Harveys 24, 1986 in Nesbitt Memorial Hospi- tal, Kingston. Born in Edwardsville, he was the son of the late John and Tillie Heddick Kawalkevitz. He attended Edwardsville schools and had resided in the Harveys Lake area since 1947. He had been employed as a stockman in the maintenance department of the Ingersoll-Rand Corp., Painted Post, N.Y.
