The family, which joins us in the
Sweet Valley area from New
Jersey, stopped in to let me know
they are now Back Mountain
residents, but in the confusion of
moving into their new home, failed
to provide me with their last name.
Regardless, we do welcome these
people who recently lived near the
shore in Jersey and are enjoying the
quietness and slower pace of our
area.

daughter, Lori, niece Darci Davis,
spent three days last week enjoying
the beach at Ocean City, New
Jersey.
Darci will be leaving for Virginia
the week of August 19th where she
will attend Liberty College so this
was a special “short stay’’ vacation
for Lori and Darci before summer’s
end.
Can you believe they left me
behind? My favorite place in the
world to vacation and I worked
while they played! Tanned and
happy, they have returned.

This is the first grandchild for
Gram and Pop Pop Chappell and

Major, home from the hospital. As
I’m writing this week’s column, she
is being transferred to the
University of Pennsylvania Hospital
in Philadelphia from the Wilkes-
Barre General Hospital.
Shirley has a foot that is giving
her problems and it is the hope of
all concerned that there is an
antibiotic out there somewhere that
is going to kill that stubborn germ.
