Rebels
still
dominate
The Rebels continue to dominate
Division A of the Back Mountain
Slow Pitch League with an impres-
sive 21-3 record while Fort Pike
leads Division B at 16-7.
Following the Rebels in Division
A are Farmers Inn, 20-4; Pizza Bar,
20-4; and Humphrey's, 17-6.
In Division B, Pickett’s Charge
controls second place at 15-9 while
Waterfront Inn and Scholl’s Plumb-
ing are tied at 12-12; Mac-Lyn
follows at 8-16, Carl’s, 6-18; Jones
Pancake, 5-19; Rave’s Nursery, 2-
22; and Kandlelight Lounge, 1-23.

The Dallas Gridiron Club
invites all parents and friends of
the 1986 Dallas High School foot-
ball” team to ‘Meet the Team
Night” on Thursday, August 14,
at 6:30 p.m. at the Dallas Senior
High School.
Refreshments will be served.
Camp held

Back Mountain boys copped the
title in the Wilkes-Barre Recreation
Board’s 11-12-year-old tournament,
Thursday, by shutting out Duryea,
12-0, at the Plains Little League
field. The boys advanced to the
finals by defeating St. Therese’s, 3-
0, Monday, Aug. 4, behind Tony
Finarelli’s one-hit pitching.
The local boys were led in the 12-0
shutout over Duryea by Brian
Miller who fanned 13 batters while
giving up only four hits. Miller also
wnet 4-for-4 at the plate, knocking
i
out two doubles and slamming out a
three-run homer in the fourth
inning.
The Back Mountain All Stars took
a first inning lead, scoring three
runs led off by Bob Casterline’s
walk, then a double by Miller. Hugo
Selenski drove home Casterline and
Miller with a single then scored the
third run in the inning on a single
rapped out by Chuck Finn.
The boys went scoreless in the
second and third frames but put the
game on ice for good in the fourth
and fifth frames, scoring four runs
in the fourth and five in the fifth.
Miller’s homerun drove in three of
the four runs in the fourth inning

and doubles by Jeff Masley and
Selenski and an RBI triple by Tony
Finarelli added the runs in the fifth.
In Monday’s game with St.
Therese’s, the Back Mountain boys
scored all of their runs in the fourth
inning.
Miller started the scoring when he
rapped out a single to take first and
Selenski took base on an error. Finn
chalked up an RBI with a fielder’s
choice, then Masley hit an RBI
single. Frank Natitus drove out a
double to send in the final run.
Finarelli atruck out five and
walked six while hurling his one
hitter.
Larry Kreiner coached the Back
Mountain All Star team.
