THIS SUMMER has been a rainy
one. It seems at least two days a
week, it rains all day long. Keeping
younger children entertained is
pretty difficult when it has rained
several days in a row. Homemade
play dough is an entertaining way to
spend a gloomy afternoon.
The recipe, which makes enough
cups flour, 3/4 cups salt, 1/2 cups
cool water, 1 1/2 teaspoon cream of
tartar, 3/4 teaspoon oil and five
drops of food coloring. Cook on
medium heat, stirring constantly
until too thick to stir. Remove from
pan to cool. When cool, store in
plastic bag.
If you have older children, they
‘may enjoy making this play dough
themselves, with a little supervision
from Mom.

Bonsavage, RD 4, Dallas, was
recently commissioned a Second
Lieutenant upon his graduation
from the U.S. Military Academy,
West Point, N.Y., where he was
awarded a degree in computer sci-
ence.
The Lieutenant is presently
attending training at the Air
Defense Artillery Branch at Fort
Bliss, Texas.
He is a 1982 graduate of Lake-
Lehman High School.

Atty. and Mrs. Nicholas R. Perella,
Pennington, N.J., have announced
the birth of a son in Princeton
Medical Center on July 16. The

Mrs. Perella is the former
Jeanette Samuels, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Roger Samuels, Carverton
Road, Trucksville. Atty. Perella is
the son of Mrs. Claire Perella,
Kingston, and Nicholas Perella,
Wilkes-Barre.

CONGRATULATIONS to Mr. and
Mrs. James Kelley, Sr., Orchard
Street, Dallas, who will observe
their 50th wedding anniversary on
Saturday.
The couple was married by Rev.
Horace E. Weaver in Montrose
Methodist Church. Attendants were
Mr. and Mrs. George West of the
Montrose Bible Conference.
Mrs. Kelley is the daughter of the
late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Patton,
Noxen. She is retired from Offset
Paperback.
Mr. Kelley is the son of the late
Patrick and Sarah Ann Kelly,
Kingston and Plymouth.
The Kelleys have four children,
three of whom are still living;
James Jr., Dallas; Donald, Noxen;
Thomas, Wallingford, Conn. Mrs.
Watkin (Pauline) Williams,
California, is deceased. They also
have eight grandchildren.
An open house will be held on
Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Michael
Fetchco, Beaumont, to celebrate the
occasion.

Retarded Citizens of Luzerne
County is selling raffle tickets for
this car and only 300 will be sold.
All proceeds will be used to
benefit mentally retarded adults
and children in Luzerne County.
The BMW was made available
through the cooperation of Wyoming
Valley Motors.

NOW THAT I AM HOME in the
mornings, I enjoy watching Hour
Magazine on Channel 16. The
cooking section is very interesting,
with the guest of the day usually
preparing the recipe of the day.
Last week Abigail Van Buren,
Dear Abby, was woman of the hour.
She prepared a simple chocolate
mousse that sounded so good I just |
had to try it. (We are definitely a
family of chocoholics.) It proved to
be truly delicious, but a word of
caution - eat a very small portion
since this Chocolate Mousse is very,
very rich.
To prepare Chocolate Mouse, ala
Dear Abby - Whipe one pint of
heavy cream until stiff, add 1/3 cup
of Hershey's cocoa and 2 cups fudge
ice cream topping. Blend very well
and chill. Just delicious!

Assistant Head Nurse of the Infant
Transitional Unit at the Children’s
Hospital of Philadelphia.
Gregory, son of Mrs. Stephen L.
Walter Sr., Camden, N.J., is a
graduate of Woodrow Wilson High
School and Rutger’s University,
Camden, with a Bachelor of Science
Degree in Nursing. He is employed
on the Clinical Research Center at
the Hospital of the University of
Philadelphia.
Following a wedding trip to
Bermuda, the Walters are residing
in the Chestnut Hill section of
Philadelphia.
