Gig Sorber, petite blonde and her
husband, William, are residents of
Lehman. They are presently build-
ing their new home which is nearing
completion after many months and
hours and hours of work, particu-
larly on Bill’s part.
He has done all of the work in
their new home which is a large,
two-story, three bedroom house,
Most of the downstairs is completed
with the exception of the fireplace
and some finishing touches and two
of the bedrooms and a bath are
finished upstairs. There are still
many of the finishing things to be
done, explained Gig, the things that
take time.
Although they have a sawmill,
many of the windows, doors, and
other items are from some other
building that has been razed and
Bill has finished them so they can
be used in the Sorbers’ new house.

Mountain when she and Bill were
married.
She is president of the Sunshine
Club,a social group organized by a
group of girls who were friends
while attending school and decided
to continue that friendship following
graduation. They meet once each
month and go out to different
places. They have a lot in common
for all members of the club are
cosmeticians.
Gig and Bill have no children but
Gig has a large black and white cat
named Missy, and the Sorbers
recently acquired a nine-week old
Rottweiler pup, Hans.
In her leisure time, Gig goes
swimming in season, and attends
aerobics classes three times each
week. She likes to fish and last
year, fo the first time, she went
deer hunting with her husband. She
also hunts woodchucks.
Gig is interested in antiques and
is gradually collecting pieces to
refinish their home. She also col-
dects copper items and clay potter-

because they are in every room of

cially likes barbecuing and making
hors d’oeuvres. :
She also likes to travel and has
visited Florida nad the sester
states, and for a time she lived in El

foods which take very little time.
These are the kind of recipes she
shares with Dallas Post readers this
week.

I’M SURE EVERYONE WOULD
AGREE that last weekend’s
Independence Day celebration was
the best ever. The unveiling of the
Statue of Liberty, the magnificent
tall ships on parade and the
wonderful entertainment stirred the
patriotism in all of us. What a
weekend!
Harry and
Sally Davenport
of Eleanor Street
in Shavertown
will remember
this occasion with}
much excitement §
since their son
Harry, a member
of the Penn State
Blue KINGSBURY
Band, was chosen as a member of
the Liberty Band. A trumpet player,
Harry had perhaps the best
opportunity to participate in the
festivities since the trumpets led the
fanfare in the opening and closing
ceremonies as well as participating
with other Liberty Band members
in various musical selections.
Adding to the excitement was the
fact that the Davenport family was
able to attend the dress rehearsal
for the closing ceremonies held at
the Meadowlands on Saturday.
