Jim Egliskis, son of Barbara
May, of Beaumont, was recently
presented with a special Scouting
award during the Penn Mountains
Council of the Boy Scouts of Amer-
ica annual “Friends of Scouting”
Genetti Best Western Motor Inn in
Wilkes-Barre.
Egliskis, 17, had earned all the
merit badges there are in Scouting
so local scouting officials made up
an award, called the ‘‘Super Eagle”
award, especially for him and made
the presentation during the dinner.
Egliskis became an Eagle Scout
in 1983, having earned 21 merit
gadget and completing a public
service project. The Back Mountain
resident has now earned 118 Scout-
ing merit badge, one more than
Scouting currently offers since one
of the badges was eliminated after
he earned it.
Currently employed as a photog-
rapher for the Sunday Independent,
Egliskis is the first in the Penn
Mountain’s Council history to earn
all the Scouting merit badges.
