Back Mtn. on move DALLAS HIGH SCHOOL’S 25th commencement was held outside for the eighth year in a row on Friday evening. One hunred and ninety eight stu- dents received their diplomas while proud parents, family and friends, watch as the sun actually shined on the graduates. Rains and cloudy skies all day long were only threats of dampening the spirits of the class of 1986. Congratulations to the Class of "86. 0 JOHN AND LOUISE DAVIS of St. Augustine, Florida, arrived in Shavertown last Wednesday to witness the | receiving of the diploma of their first grandchild | to graduate from | high school, Darci Davis. Darci is the daughter of John and Sharron Davis of Rose Village, Shavertown. Follow- ing graduation, there was a party in Darci’s honor at her home which we all enjoyed. Parties were being held all over the Back Mountain and Wyoming Valley on the weekend, most of them to honor graduates. -0- MARC RAMIREZ was honored at a party on Saturday afternoon at his home on Center Street, Shavertown. Marc’s Grandma Ramirez and Aunt and family drove in from New Jersey on Saturday to join Marc’s celebration. HILLARD -0- ELLEN HILLARD, daughter of Harry and Pat Hillard of Plymouth, graduated from Wyoming Valley West last week and she was honored at a party Saturday evening at the Plymouth Township Fire Hall by her parents. Ellen is also our niece, so we enjoyed her celebration also. -0- AMY GARDNER, pharmacist at Stapinski’s in Dallas, was honored at a bridal shower on Sunday after- noon at the Holiday Inn, wilkes- Barre. The shower was given by her attendnts and future mother-in-law. A very beautiful shower, dinner and afternoon was the setting for the opening of many useful and beautiful presents for the bride-to- be. -0- THE FOUCHS FAMILY of Chase, Shavertown, has had a busy past three weeks. Dave spent a week bear hunting with a group of guys in Canada, returning on his daughter’s gradua- tion day and on time to see her graduate, a big worry of Peggy's. Daughter Jennifer graduated from lka-elehman last Friday night, Peggy began preparing for her trip where she is bowling with the National League near Los Angeles, California. A week in California, of fun and family doings before daughter Jennifer leaves for college in Massachusetts later on this summer. Dave, Peggy and Jennifer are certainly a Back Mountain family on the move. -0- JOHN AND EDITH DYER of Port St. Lucie, Florida are in Dallas visiting their daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hayes for a month. It was such a pleasure meeting this lovely lady last week. She and her daughter will surely enjoy their time together before they return trip to Florida. The Dyers are traveling via car and enjoying the area as they go. Joe is spending a week visiting his parents but he will return to Rhode Island to do some crew racing, one of his favorite things in life.
