He resided in Jackson Twp. for 21 years and was a member of the Volunteer Fire Dept. Officer of the Jackson Twp. Fire Company Parade will commence at 5:30 p.m. and will include all above men- tioned units in addition to various police and fire units from the Back Mountain Area. The Lake-Lehman High School Band will lead the parade which will begin at the Fire Hall and proceed for one mile to Konefal’s Grove on Chase Road. The Firemen’s Bazaar will be in progress May 23, 24 and will con- tinue through the 25th. Leader will be toasted The history of the Lake-Lehman Band has been highlighted through- out the years by many outstanding accomplishments. Traveling to Maryland, Rhode Island, Florida, West Virginia, Georgia, Virginia, Kentucky, Washington, D.C., New York, New Jersey, Ontario, and Montreal, Canada, the band has amassed over 600 trophies to its credit. Competing in all phases of competition, they have won firsts in each category. They have been cited by the Pennsylvania State Governor and the White House and have received a proclamation from the Pennsyl- vania State Senate. The band has won three International Champion- ships and numerous National Cham- pionships. In 1984, the Lake-Lehman Band won the State Championship in Cavalcade Competition and the Atlantic Coast Championship in Tournament of Bands. To date no other band has ever accomplished this fete in Field Show Competition. In September the band traveled to Atlantic City to march in the Miss America Pageant Parade as the honor band for Miss America: In May the band will travel to Virginia Beach, Va. to participate in a Festival of Music Competition. The guiding force behind this group of young musicians is Band Ddirector, John Miliauskas. Mr. Mil- iawskas, a former graduate of Lake- Lehman High School and a former member of the band, is an alumnus of Mansfield State College and a life member of Phi Mu Alpha National Honor Fraternity. He is also a member of Phi Beta Mu, the National Band Masters Fraternity. Ir: honor of this great accomplish- ment there will be a “Toast and Roast” held on June 13, 1986 at Convention Cneter, Pittston Town- ship. Cost is $20.00 for adults and $10.00 for students.
