REP. STANLEY JAROLIN
Democratic State Representa-
tive hopeful Joe Yeager narrowly
missed out knocking off incum-
bent Stanley Jarolin by a total of
12 votes in his first run ever for
public office. This time, however,
he feels the outcome will be
different in the 119th Legislative
District on the May 20 Primary.
“I feel very confident,” said
Atty. Yeager, a public defender
for Luzerne County said. ‘After
having gone door-to-door, I see
the response has been very posi-
tive. The people have been dis-
couraged and dissatisfied with
their representation over the
past four years. He (Jarolin) has
shown the inability to secure jobs
in the region, except for his
family, and the people also want
to know about his financial trou-
bles (referring to his declaring
voluntary bankruptcy for his
heating-plumbing firm).
“He has also refused to debate
me on the issues, and I think the
voters should at least have a
chance to view a debate and then

make decision on who they want
to represent them.”
Incumbent State Rep. Stanley
Jarolin, D-Nanticoke, says his
record over the years speaks for
itself and that he is confident he
will be elected to serve a third
term in the 119th Legislative
District.
“I have brought in $7 million in
state funds to the district,’”” Jaro-
lin stated. “I have also done
work to improve the environ-
ment, highways and we are now
working on legislation to solve
the problem of teenage alcohol-
ism and teenage suicide.
Jarolin has also dismissed
charges by his opponent, Atty.
Joe Yeager. ‘“He’s just looking
for free advertisement,” Jarolin
said. “My accomplishments are
public record. I have been a 100
per cent legislator and I have not
missed a session in 3% years. I
am available seven days a week
and I am a full-time representa-
tive.”

heading north on Lake Street, failed
to stop at the intersection, striking
the Post car which was headed east
on Center Hill Road. None of the
