THE FPC FILM SERIES will
snow the film, M, by German direc-
tor Fritz Lang at the Penn State
Wilkes-Barre campus on April 30, at
“7 p.m. in room L101 and at the First
Presbyterian Church in Wilkes-
Barre on May 1 t 8 p.m. in the
Fellowship Hall.
M, Fritz Lang’s first sound film is
a powerful and disturbing drama
based on the fiendish Dussaldorf
murders of 1929. In the role that
‘launched his career, Peter Lorre
recreates the claustrophobic, psy-
chotic world of the child murderer
who is hunted by the criminal
underworld as well as the police. A
brilliantly directed thriller, M is
also a compassionate study of a
suffering human being who is
unable to help himself.
