LEHMAN IS LUCKY Sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good. Last week Lake- Lehman’s baseball team was a little of both as it won two nail-biters from winless teams to raise its record to 4-5. On Friday, Bill George singled in Ron Fedor with the winning run in the ninth inning to lead Lehman to a 5-4 over Seton Catholic at the losers field. Fedor had led off the ninth with a triple when, with one out, George singled him home. Winless on the year, Seton, trail- ing 4-1 in the bottom of the seventh, scored three times off Lehman starter and eventual winner Brian Evans to send the game into extra innings. The rallying blow was a bases-loaded two-run single by Bill Higgins. The loss keeps Seton consistent at GETS DECISION Lehman’s other win was a 3-1 decision at the expense of West Side Tech on Saturday. Todd Sallo held Tech to three hits and Jason Cadwalader singed in two runs in the top of the seventh for the win. Sallo got the complete-game win over Tech’s Bob Helda by striking out six while walking only two. Helda, though taking the loss, pitched well, giving up four hits to the Black Knights on the afternoon. With the loss, Tech drops to 0-9 in the Wyoming Valley Conference. LOT M. Dallas Coach Jay Pope said the girls were hitting better in Saturday’s game but with Coughlin and Tunkhannock scheduled this week, his team will have to play and hit better than they have been. He said late inning mistakes will kill them. In Thursday’s game with Northwest, Cave gave up onlv four hits to lead Dallas in their sixth win of the Wrestlers honored season with no losses. The young Titans staged a rally in the fifth inning scoring three runs bit it wasn’t enough to stop the game from ending under the 10-run league rule.
