THE FPC FILM SERIES will
show the film ATLANTIC CITY, by
French Director Louis Malle at the
Penn State Wilkes-Barre campus on
April 23, at 7 p.m. in room L101 and
at the First Presbyterian Church in
Wilkes-Barre on April 24, at 8 p.m.
in the Fellowship Hall.
ATLANTIC CITY, winner of sev-
eral international film awrds, is an
exceptional motion picture - a
mixed bag of gentle humor, com-
passion and eccentric and shady
characters. The film stars Susan
Sarenden and Burt Lancaster who
delivers a stellar portrayal of a one
time gangster’s bodyguard with
fond memories of organized crime
in Atlantic City.
THE APRIL MEETING OF
SHARE (A Source of Help in Airing
and Resolving Experiences) will be
held Thursday, April 24, 7 p.m. at
the Melan House (a Mercy Hospital
annex), 195 Hanover Street, Wilkes-
Barre.
SHARE is a self-help group spe-
cifically for parents who have lost a
pregnancy, stillbirth, or neonatal
(early infant) death. It is a free
community service sposnored by
the Mercy Hospital Auxiliary and is
open to any parent who has experi-
enced such a loss.
Facilitator for the group is Judith
M. Nowak, RN.
VETERANS OF THE VIETNAM
WAR, Post 2, will meet Thursday,
April 24, at 8 p.m. at the Coral
Lounge, 245 Owen St., Swoyersville.
Delinquent members are urged to
pay their 1986 dues.
The Veterans of the Vietnam War,
Inc. is a full service organization
open fo all veterans.

OUS LIVING, the mime group
QUIET RIOT will take to the stage
of the Beirly Auditorium at Penn
State Wilkes-Barre Friday, April 25
at 8 p.m. with a performance of
‘Out of Control at Penn State.”
Known for their outlandish humor
and zaniness, QUIET RIOT’S mix of
dance, illusion, mime, improvisa-
tion and audience participation cre-
ates a riot of sound and laughter.
Barbs fly as QUIET RIOT takes on
the media, technology, fame, for-
tune, power and adventure.
The show is free to the public as
part of the Cultural and Special
Events Series at Penn State Wilkes-

DR. SHELDON SPEAR, professor
of Social Sciences and History at
Luzerne County Community Col-
lege, will present a community lec-
ture entitled, “In the Service of
Evil: Science, Technology, and the
Holocaust.”
The lecture will be held Friday,
April 25 at 11 a.m. in the Hayfield
House Community Room of the
Penn State Wilkes-Barre campus in
Lehman. The public is invited free
of charge.
The talk is sponsored by Liberal
Arts Society, a student sponsored
cultural group on the campus.
THE COUPLES CLUB of the
Trucksville United Methodist
Church will hold its annual garage
sale Friday, April 25, 6-9 p.m. and
Saturday, April 26, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Persons needing pickup service
for garage sale items are asked to
call 696-3897. Items will be picked
up through Thursday, April 24
between 6-9 p.m.
A bake sale will also be held
during the garage sale hours. Baked
goods can be dropped off Friday
from 1 p.m. on, and on Saturday,
notlater than 10 a.m.
THE EVANS HALL GALLERY of
Wilkes College will exhibit the work
of Bruce Lanning, Senior Art major
at Wilkes College, on Saturday,
April 26 through Thursday, May 1.
Gallery hours will be 7 to 10 p.m. on
Saturday, ‘April 26; 12 to 5 p.m. on
Sunday, April 27; and 6 to 9 p.m. on
Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
A reception will be held following
the opening on April 26. The exhibi-
tion is open to the public, and there
