This Disney production was based on the intriguing tale of a search, amid a series of natural disasters and muti- neers, for a lost sea captain. With such a multitude of appear- ances in Disney productions, Hayley Mills became a major star in the United States. She was featured on magazine covers; her record albums sold well, and fan clubs were quickly organized in her honor. However, once Hayley left the Disney fold, her popularity faded. Not much has been heard of her since that period. Surprisingly, many believe Hayley to be related to Donna Mills (“Knots Landing’’). No relation, Hayley is the daughter of British Board approves actor John Mills and playwright Mary Hayley Bell. Since her depar- ture from Disney, she has been at home in England rearing two sons from previous marriages, and appearing on stage and screen. In 1982, Hayley was featured in ‘‘The Flame Trees of Thicka,” which aired on PBS, and in 1984, she narrated a a Disney Channel spe- cial. Movie viewers will now be waiting in eager anticipation for the theatri- cal features the Disney Studio plans to release as well as for the return of Hayley Mills to a starring role in a Disney movie once more.
