RECENTLY, Sister Elizabeth’s
second graders have been busy
making magazines according to the
program in “Cover to Cover.” Each
student made one issue of a maga-
zine, including short stories, biogra-
phies, poems, sports trivia ques-
tions, fashion and beauty guides,
pictures, jokes, puzzles and games.
The children were obviously very
proud of their finished product as
they read and showed -the magazine
to the class. -0-
LAST WEEK the students in
fourth grade attended a Sergeant
Seymour Safety Puppet Show. The
purpose of the show was to teach
the children safety habits for the
care of their eyes; how to watch TV
safely; how to avoid eye injury
from dangerous toys and how to
care for their glasses. Afterward,
the children tok an Eye Safety
Pledge to ensure that they would
take good care of their eyes.
SECOND GRADERS getting
ready for First Communion are
making banners inscribed with
appropriate slogans, which they will
hang on their church pew when
their day comes.
