FOR FURTHER 825-5261. The name is still the same - Mum Farm Florist - but there are new owners and a new look. Donna Pitts and Gail Touey, sis- ters, purchased Mum Farm Florist from former owner, Tom Amos, and opened it as their business, July 1 of last year. Natives of Dallas, the two young women are the daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Shaffer of Dallas. Both girls graduated from Dallas Senior High School. Donna attended College Misericordia for one and a half years where she was pursuing a career as a medical technician and Gail became a licensed beauti- cian. Both sisters always did various types of crafts because their mother did and they used to work along with her. Since they were working on crafts, they decided to open a shop and started looking for a place. At the time, Gail was working at Mum Farm Florist and learned that Amos wanted to sell his business. Gail and Donna discussed purchas- ing it with their husbands and arrived at the decision to purchase the business and go into partner- ship. They had taken courses in floral arrangements at Penn State Wilkes- Barre Campus and thoroughly enjoyed it so they decided to con- tinue the shop as a floral shop and kept the name “Mum Farm Flo- rist”’. They are happy that they did because now they enjoy doing floral arrangements more than they did doing crafts. Donna and Gail have made changes in the floral shop. There are a wide variety of silk flower arrangements on display, large handcrafted wreaths decorated with flowers and ribbons for all occa- sions are on the walls, and large, wide-brimmed hats beautifully arranged with flowers are featured on some of the walls. The sisters make beautiful origi- nal arrangements and also feature “Precious Moments” and stained glass sun catchers, wall hangings and lamps. SEES BS Ls Sa a
