Environmental Resources & Energy
Committee, has announced that the
Senate Committee will hold public
hearings on Senate Bill 1211, the
municipal solid waste legislation.
The hearing will be held March 7, at
WVIA, Channel 44, Old Boston
Road, Jenkins Twp., Wilkes-Barre
beginning at 11 a.m. The hearings
will begin promptly and are open to
the public. .

GRONENDAHL will be the honored
guest at an opening reception

Gallery, College Misericordia. The
exhibit of limited edition silk screen
prints will be on display until March
27.
A resident of Doylestown, Gronen-
dah works in her Barn Studio, a
converted 18th century barn in the
heart of Bucks County.
Gallery hours are weekdays and
Sundays from 1-4 p.m., and Satur-
days by appointment. The exhibit is
open to the public without charge.

THE UNITED STATES ARMY
JAZZ BAND, “The Army Blues’,
will present a free concert at Col-
lege Misericordia on March 11 at 8
p.m. in Walsh Auditorium.
The Army Blues, an 18 piece
ensemble with the ‘‘Big Band”
sound, plays contemporary compos-
itions and nostalgic hits of yester-
day. In two previous appearances at
the college, the group played to
standing room only crowds.
The Army Blues concert is part of
College Misericordia’s March Cul-
tural Events Series. The Westmins-
ter Singers will perform at the
College on March 18 at 8 p.m. Both
events are open to the public, free
of charge.

“FOOT CARE AND THE DIA-
BETIC”’ will be the topic of discus-
sion presented by Thomas P.
Jiunta, D.P.M., on Tuesday, March
11, at the Kingston Township Munic-
ipal Building on Carverton Road,
Trucksville.
Jiunta received his doctor of
podiatric medicine from the Ohio
College of Podiatric Medicine and
completed his residency training in
foot surgery at the Harrison Hospi-
tal in Detroit, Michigan.
This lecture is open to the public
free of charge and is being spon-
sored by the Luzerne County Chap-
ter of the American Diabetes Asso-
ciation. Additional information may

professional nursing students on
Thursday, March 13 at 3 p.m. in the
dining room.
The job fair will enable prospec-
tive registered nurses to learn about
career options and employment
opportunities available at Wilkes-
Barre General. Graduating students
will also be able to complete job
applications and schedule inter-
views for nursing positions at the
hospital.

included in the program, which is
