Volunteer women
from the United
Methodist Church in
Kunkle held their
annual cookie sale
project last week at
the Kunkle Fire
House.
The 10-woman
group, which has
been holding the
event for the past six
years, said they had
baked 450 dozen cook-
ies, with the proceeds
from the sale going to
the church.
ingredients used were
purchased with the
aid of green stamps
to help keep costs
down and that the
cookies themselves,
which had already
been pre-sold, were
baked on grittles.
Close to $500 is
expected to be raised
by the one week drive
with boxes selling for
$1.50 a dozen.
The Church will be
celebrating its 100th
anniversary next Sep-
tember.
