The recent marriage of Janine
Carol Carey, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. John J. Carey, Shavertown,
and Ardolan Ossereh, son of Dr. and
Mrs. Abdol Hossein Ossareh, Shiraz,
Iran, was performed
Therese’s Church, Shavertown.
Monsignor Joseph P. Gilgallon cele-
brated the Nuptial Mass.
Miss Janet Carey, sister of the
bride was the maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Mrs. Mohammad
Hajimohammad, sister of the
groom; Mrs. Mark Kalish, Miss
Roseann White and Kristin and
Karen Ortley, the bride’s godchild-
ren.
Mr. Mohammad Hajimohammad,
brother in law of the groom was
best man. Ushers were Ardashir
Afshar, Dr. Jay C. Carey, and Joel
Carey, brothers of the bride; and
Hossein Gharowsi. Ali Reza Ossa-
reh, brother of the groom was
ringbearer.
The bride, given in marriage by
her father, wore her mother’s wed-
ding gown. The bodice of beaded
chantilly lace featured a mandarin
collar and long sleeves tapered at
the wrists. The full ivory satin skirt
ended in a chapel train. Her finger-
tip veil, designed by MaryJean of
Washington Millinery, Inc. was
arranged on a pearl headband. She
carried a cascade bouquet of cymbi-
dium orchids and roses, also a
crystal rosary, a gift from her
mother.
The bridesmaids, wore waltz
length gowns of satin burgundy and
matching hats, decorated with
pearls. They carried long stem
roses dyed to match their gowns.
The mother of the bride selected a
pink silk dress, matching accesso-
ries and wore a wrist corsage of
pink roses. The groom’s mother was
attired in a grey silk dress, match-
ing accessories and wore a write
corsage of red roses.
An evening reception was held in
the Grand Ballroom, Genetti’s,
Wilkes-Barre. A rehearsal dinner
was hosted by the groom’s parents
at Genetti’s.
After a wedding trip to Florida,
the couple is residing in Alexandria,
Va.
The bride was fetd at a shower
given by her mother and sister at
the Knights of Columbus Home,
Luzerne. The couple also will be
honored at a formal reception in
Virginia.
Mrs. Ossareh, a magna cum laude
graduate of Marywood College, is
pursuing a Masters Degree in Jour-
nalism at’ the University of Mary-
land. She directs Communications
and Public Relations for the Color
Marketing Group, a Washington,
D.C. based Trade Association.
Mr. Ossareh is a graduate of the
Capital Institute of Technology,
Kensington, Md. He is pursuing a
Masters Degree in Electonics and
Computer Engineering at George
Mason University.
