Mr. Kubis presented Miss Fries with a photograph and plague. The photograph is one which Mr. Kubis had taken while he was in attendance at an event where Kiersten and the band performed. The plague accompanying the photo dedicates the award to her because she exemplifies Mr. Kubis'’ -motto of ‘‘confidence with determination.”’ Mr. Kubis made the presentation of the award, which will be on display in the school’s trophy case, in the hopes that Kiersten’s example and its recognition in this award night inspire future students to value and prize such standards of excellence. Additional upcoming fund raisers for the school are a Night at the Races on Feb. 1 and the annual Spring Bazaar.
