Rep. George C.
Hasay, who supported
the bill’s passage in
the House, said the
loans would be funded
through the $190 mil-
lion bond program
approved by the
voters in 1984.
“The loans will be
targeted for capital
improvements such
as new machinery
and plant © expan-
sions,” Hasay said.
“These industries
have been hit very
hard by many factors
including low-cost
labor outside the
United States.
