Werner, Wilkes College Professor of Commerce and Finance, was honored by his col- leagues at ceremonies marking his recent retirement. Werner, a. 30- year member of the Wilkes faculty, was presented with a plaque bear- ing the inscription, ‘‘Bob Werner - Teacher, Scholar, Friend - From His Colleagues, Wilkes College, 1955-1985." Werner joined the Wilkes faculty in 1955 as a professor of Economics. In 1972, he was named Chairman of the Commerce and Finance Depart- ment, a position he held until 1979. Concert held Dallas Intermediate School Fifth and Sixth Grade Bands presented a seasonal concert in December before a large audience of parents and friends. Those in the ensembles were clari- netists Alison Labatte, Eric Cloth- ier, Jennifer Coon, Heather Hodne, saxophonists Brian Jayne, Joe Bobeck; trumpeters Emily Russin, Shannon Hoyt, John Prebola, Jim Reynolds, Erik Ursiak, Paul May was baritone horn soloists with band accompaniment. The faculty, staff and students donated new and good-as-new toys and games as well as money which will be distributed to local needy children through the U.S. Marine Corps Training Center in Wyoming.
