Church choirs ‘Love Came Down’’, a cantata depicting the birth of Jesus, will be presented by the combined choirs of the Idetown and Lehman United Methodist Churches and Trinity Presbyterian Church of Dallas. The choir is directed by Shirley A. Mahle, with accompaniment by Elaine St. Clair as pianist and Virginia Swanson as organist. Two presentations will be given. The first will be on Sunday, Dec. 15, at 7 p.m. at the Idetown U.M. Church, with Rev. Michael Sham- bora as the narrator. Then, on Dec. 22, at 11 a.m. during the morning worship service, the cantata will once again be presented at the Trinity Presbyterian Church with Dr. C. George Poynton of Dallas. Mrs. Poynton, long-time resident of the Back Mountain, lived on Shaver Avenue, Shavertown, for 35 years before moving to The Mead- ows Apartment Complex. MELVIN EVANS Melvin Evans, 79 Park St. Benton, died at his home on Novem- ber 28 following a lengthy illness.
