How many of you have observed
‘‘a globe labeled UNIVERSAL”
flashing across your television
screen at the end of a TV program
or movie? If you have not yet seen
it, then carefully watch, and more
importantly, count the number of
times you see this logo appear
weekly. (Viewers, quite assuredly,
will be Surprised. ): pumas
Universal, at |
present, is the top
supplier of shows
for television.
Universal TV
offers an unprec-
edented 12 series
and 11 hours of =
television pro- wysocki
gramming. With
the exception of Monday, it has a
program on every night of the week.
From NBC, Universal has
“Knight Rider,” ‘Misfits of Sci-
ence,” ‘Miami Vice,” ‘Amazing
Stories,” ‘‘Alfred Hitchcock’; and
from ABC, “The Insiders.” CBS has
given the nod for the ‘George Burns
Comedy Week,” “Magnum, P.L.,”
“Simon & Simon,” ‘‘Airwolf,”
“Murder, She Wrote,” and ‘The
Equalizer.”
Universal TV’s budget is such
that it will exceed the $300 million
mark, not only a record for itself
but. possibly for any major televi-
sion studio. In fact, Universal is so
busy that it is even turning down
some orders. Right now, the studio
has an amazing 80 producers and
writers who are busily under con-
tract.
A mid-season order for Universal
TV from ABC is for ‘‘He’s the
Mayor,” a comedy that was origi-
nally on the network’s fall schedule,
but now is awaiting a time slot.
NBC has placed an order for three

your Christmas list.
Last week I stopped in at Mary’s
Flower Garden, a new florist,

flowers expertly displayed greets
you when you walk into the store.
Mary Wooten has lots of great
ideas, and is happy to accommodate
her customers wishes. If you are
looking for special Christmas
arrangements, Mary would be
happy to help you.
CONGRATULATIONS TO local
artist Sue Hand, a very talented
person, who captured fourth prize in
overall competition with a detailed
pen and ink drawing of a Benton
resident in an annual exhibit spon-
sored by the Florida Miniature Art
Society.
Back Mountain residents are.very
familiar with Sue’s art work, which
always proves to be very beautiful,
no matter what the medium.
