She likes to ski, listen to music, and to go out with her friends in her leisure time. Paula works part-time at the Dallas Acme. In school, Michelle is involved in National Honor Society and Senior Steering Commit- tee. Michele is also serving as Class Secretary. She has been awarded the French award and N.E.D.T. certificates. Michelle plays piano, skis, reads and works at Rent-Rite during her out of school hours. Since Halley’s Comet will not pass around the sun again before the year 2061, Luzerne County Commu- nity College, the Wilkes College Astronomy Club, and the Luzerne County Science Teachers Associa- tion will sponsor a joint program designed to provide area residents with an opportunity to view the comet. The special program on Halley's Comet will be open to the public free of charge, and will be con- ducted in two evening sessions at the Educational Conference Center on the LCCC main campus in Nanti- coke on Wednesday, Dec. 4 and Thursday, Dec. 5, pending a clear sky for viewing. The sessions will begin at 7 p.m. and will include a lecture featuring Ken Lewis, professor of physics at LCCC, the viewing of a film strip and video tape, and comet observa- tion through telescopes set up on the community college campus. Pro- gram participants are encouraged to dress accordingly and bring a set of binoculars. Reservations for the sessions are limited, and will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis.
