Dallas, who celebrated their 30th
‘wedding anniversary on Sunday.
Len is employed as an iron
~ worker out of L.U. 489, Scranton.
The Groboskis are the parents of
two daughters, Mrs. Randy (Sheri)
Dyson, Brunswick, Georgia, who is
employed by Georgia Federal Sav-
ings and Loan, and Nancy, Food
Service Dietitian for Mainline Nurs-
‘ing and Rehab Center, Paoli, Penn-
sylvania.

seem to be
making toddler’s
clothing nowa-
days that is
extremely diffi-
cult to get out of.
A case in point;
last week one of my 3 year old
students, Kimberly, asked me to
“help her get out of a pair of
.overhalls so that she could use the
bathroom. Sounds easy enough,
doesn’t it?
Well there were no buttons, snaps
or zippers anywhere. I looked and
searched for a way to get the
patiently probably getting desperate
for the bathroom.
_ Enter Sara, another student, who
R heard me say, “Kim how do you get
| these things off? Sara turned Kim
around, looked at the point where
the straps criss-crossed, pulled the
straps down over her shoulders
without unfastening anything and
* returned to the classroom, leaving a
happy classmate who could finally
use the bathroom and an astounded
teacher behind.

Highway, Dallas.
Mr. McLaughlin is a graduate of
‘Wyoming Valley West High School,
Kingston, is employed at Schott
- Glass Technologists, Duryea.
The couple is planning a Septem-
ber 27, 1986 Wedding.
MR. AND MRS. DERWOOD
KOCHER JR., Tunkhannock,
announce the engagement of their
daughter, Tina Lee to David
Tmothy Maciejczak, son of Mrs.
Agnes Maciejczak and the late John
Maciejczak, Sweet Valley.
Miss Kocher is a graduate of
Tunkhannock High School. She is
employed at Cook’s Pharmacy,
Shavertown.

THANKSGIVING IS UPON US.
Last week I mentioned . that we
should realize our blessings, so fol-
lowing my own advice I really gave
this subject some serious thought.
I’m thankful for my husband,
children, parents, sister. (How for-
tunate I am to have such a wonder-
ful, supportive family.) I have been
blessed with good health, a home of
my own, a job I find very reward-
ing, and some great friends. Make

Billy who celebrates his sixth birth-
day this week. I don’t know where
the time goes! Billy is a student in
Mrs. Callahan’s A.M. kindergarten
class at Dallas Elementary School.

Decorating cupcakes
A recently formed group of the Daisy Scouts learned how to
decorate cupcakes at a recent meeting. Mrs. Veronica
Farinola, ho is skilled in the art of cake decorating, offered
her time to give a hands-on presentation to the kindergarten
girls. This Daisy troop under the leadership of Mrs. Sharon
Hartshorne, is the first to be organized in Dallas. Daisy
Scouts is for girls 5 years of age or in kindergarten. Shown

“0 Christmas Tree, O Christmas
Tree-How Lovely Are Thy
Branches” could be the msot popu-
lar carol sung in Wilkes-Barre this
holiday season as the Mercy Hospi-
tal Auxiliary presents the area’s
first “Festival of Trees”, a dazzling
display of 55 professionally trimmed
trees all in one place, Genetti’s Best
Western Motor Inn, Nov. 27, 29, 30
and Dec. 1, 1985.
Each of the 55 trees will feature a
creative and original design as it is
decorated by local florists and pro-
fessional decorators. All “Lovely
branches’ will be trimmed to fit a
theme, each different, each out-
standing, each later to be donated to
a local charity or designated institu-
tion. Tree donors include businesses
and institutions ‘whose ' generosity
makes the whole display possible.
Trees will vary in size, as they do in
splendor, and according to Auxilian
“Festival of Trees;; Chairs, Marge
Kockgether and Audrey Oeller, the
benefits of the trimmed tree exhibit
will go-to support the new Oncology
(cancer treatment) services at
Mercy Hospital.
Viewers, however, will also bene-
fit from musical holiday entertain-

Besides the donors and decora-
tors, other businesses are contribut-
ing to this community-wide musical
entertainment. For all Wilkes-Barri-
ans, the triple-tree insignia with the
Mercy Cross logo will become a
familiar sight this holiday season
