My own daughters are old enough to create their own costumes, which were quite origi- nal. Nicole was a bat, Nancy a turn of the century paper boy. My son, Billy, like many of the kindergarten male population, chose a He-Man character costume. At Nursery School, Halloween is one of the big holidays. We teachers got into the spirit of things by dressing up; I was a witch, Mrs. Davenport a scarecrow, and Mrs. Higgins was a little girl. All of the children had absolutely beautiful costumes which I’m sure took a lot ot fime for their Moms to make. We had our parade for the par- ents, played some games, had a lovely party, tried to get everyone to take a short rest (never an easy task) before their parents picked them up. You know it’s really amazing, the children looked just great, full of energy, when it was time to go home, but energetic could never describe how the teachers felt. -0- FOLLOWING OUR HALLOWEEN CELEBRATION at Trinity Nursery School, Billy and I headed for the annual Halloween Fair at Gate of Heaven School. Mrs. Joan Sholtis and Mrs. Jane Schultz did a great job with this year’s fair, which included various games, food, and different items for sale. The chil- dren and their families had a grea time. The older children operate a lot of the games. The eighth grade always manages the Haunted House, complete with ghouls, cob- webs, and eerie sounds. 3 I’m sure I can safely say that a great time was had by all. -0- FORMER RESIDENTS Mr. and Mrs. John J.
