Applications are now being
accepted from all over the Keystone
State for the annual Miss Pennsyl-
vania U.S.A. Pageant to be staged
this year for the first time in
Monroeville, Pa. in the Grand Ball-
room of the High Rise Howard
Johnson’s Hotel on February 7, 8
and 9, 1986. The Miss Pennsylvania
Pageant is an official Miss U.S.A.-
Miss Universe Contest.
There is no ‘performing talent”
requirement, all judging is on the
basis of poise, personality and
beauty of face and figure. Entrants
who qualify must be at least 17
years of age and under 25 years of
age by May 1, 1986, never married,
and at least six month residents of
Pennsylvania, thus college dorm
students are eligible. All girls inter-
ested in competing for the title must
write to: Miss Pennsylvania U.S.A.

The girl chosen as Miss Pennsyl-
vania U.S.A. will receive a 14-day
all-expense paid trip to Miami, Flor-
ida, the site of the Miss U.S.A.
Pageant nationally televised on
CBS-TV in May competing for over
$175,000 in cash and prizes. Among
her many prizes, the new state
winner will receive a $1,000 cash
scholarship and will select a $1,000

Elections held
Students accepted
Laby Toby Rebekah Lodge 514 of
Lehman met recently for the instal-
lation of officers. Ruth Johnson,
District 13 Deputy President
installed the following officers
elect: Myrl Wagner, Noble Grand;
Jean McCulloch, Vice Grand;
Rebecca Grey, Secretary; and Ruth
Johnson, Treasurer.
The Past Noble Grand Pin was
presented to Marguerite Dubil in
appreciation for her thoughtfulness
and leadership.
Appointed officers also installed
by District Deputy President are:
Warden, Alice Hudak; Conductor,
Florence Sutton; Chaplain, Derlores
Trumbower; Musician, Celia EII-
sworth; Inside Guardian, Anna
Folk; Outside Guardian, Fern
Rogers; Right and Left Supporters
of the Noble Grand, Ruth Howell
and Jean Evans respectively; and
Vera Hoover and Alta Jones, Right
and Left Supporters of the Vice
Grand.
Mrs. Johnson, now serving her
third term as D.D.P. was given a
commemorative plate engraved
with the names of the installing
team which consisted of Derlores
Trumbower, Jean Evans, Ruth
Howell, Helen Coombs, Alice
Hudak, Julia Crispell, Rebecca
Grey, Celia Ellsworth and alternate
Jean McCulloch.
Ruth Johnson, D.D.P. presented
her Deputy Marshall Jean Evans,
with a gift and thanked her for her
assistance the past year.
This was an especially eventful
meeting because it was the first
time the new regalia was used.

After the meeting the Odd Fel-
lows, Rebekahs, and their guests
met for a social time. A prayer was
offered by Mr. Hubbard of the
Rush, IOOF. Refreshments were
served, including a birthday cake
honoring Harry Howell, Chaplain of
Osage Lodge.
