- The following candidates are run-
ning for political office in Harveys
Lake Borough in the upcoming Gen-
eral Election on November 5.
.. ROBERT DEREMER
Robert DeRemer is a candidate
for the position of mayor.
The current owner of DeRemer’s
. Laundry in Dallas, Robert was the
_ previous owner of the Dallas Clean-
ers. He was a member of Council
from 1976 to 1979, serving as council
president the last two years of his
term. As president, he was instru-
mental in obtaining several grants
for Harveys Lake Borough.
DeRemember attended Luzerne
High School, served four years in
the United States Navy with an
honorable discharge. He is married
to the former Mary Ellen /Yachew
and has two children, Michelle, age
20; and Robert Jr., age 19.
Robert has been a resident of
Harveys Lake Borough for 16 years
and attends Maple Grove Church at
Pikes Creek.
~ BETTY JANE CASTERLINE
Betty Jane (Becky) Casterline is
a candidate for a seat on the Bor-
ough Council. A lifetime resident of
Harveys Lake, she was educated for
the most part in the Lake School
~ System, however, during World War
- II, graduated from the Philadelphia
School System.
Betty has served as an auditor of
Harveys Lake Borough for nine
years and as a council member for
four. She has also served as presi-
dent of the Harveys Lake Planning
~ Commission for two and one-half
years. Becky owns and operates a
ceramic shop at Harveys Lake and
is also employed as a travel agent.
Betty Jane is married to Charles
‘Casterline and has four children,
Mary Lou, Houston, Texas; George,
Jo Ann Rice, and Cindy, all of
Harveys Lake.
She is involved in many civic
organizations, including the J.R.
Davis Woman’s Auxiliary of which
she is president, the Harveys Lake
Protective Association, the Harveys
Lake American Legion Auxiliary,
the Harveys Lake Historical Society
where she serves on the board of
directors.
Betty Jane is a member of and
attends The Outlet Free Methodist
Church.
FRANK COULTON
Frank Coulton is a candidate for a
seat on the Borough Council.
He is married to the former Anna
Mae Alhum and is the father of
seven children. He is a veteran of
the Korean War, having been honor-
ably discharged with the rank of
Sergeant. He and his family attend
the Alderson United Methodist
Church where he serv es on the
Administrative Board and on ‘the
Board of Trustees.
Coulton is a member of the Har-
veys Lake Lions. He' served as
Council president for three years
and was instrumental in having
drainage work and the road around
the lake completed.
Frank is employed by American
Asphalt as a superintendent.
JOHN C. PIMM
John C. Pimm is a candidate for a
seat on the Borough Council.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he is a
graduate of Lake- Lehman High
School, class of 1977. He has spent
most of his life in the lake area and
he and his wife, Joye, are the
parents of two sons, Eric and Jeff.
Pimm is employed as a Dispatch
officer by the Dallas Township
Police Department.
GEORGE R. GWILLIAM
George R. Gwilliam is a candi-
date for a seat on the Borough
Council.
Having received a Bachelor of
Science Degree in Business Man-
agement from Florida International
University in Miami, he is currently
employed as a district sales man-
ager for Globe Communications.
A lifetime resident of Harveys
Lake, Gwilliam is the father of a
daughter.
Gwilliam is chairman of the Har-
veys Lake Zoning Board, a panel
member of the Surgeon General
Workshop on Handicapped Children,
active with the Ventilator Program
in Pennsylvania for ventilator-
assisted children, and Past State
Advisor to the Pennsylvania Teen-
age Republicans.
RICHARD (DICK) HEUER
Richard Heuer ‘is a candidate for
the position of contable.
A graduate of McKeesport School
System, he is married and has two
sons. He is a member of the J.R.
Davis Volunteer Fire Company, cur-
rently serving as chief, and is also a
member of the American Legion.
From 1974 to 1976, Heuer was
assigned as a Special Police Officer
in Norfolk, Va. where he was
responsible for the security of
approximately 2000 students. He
also stood security assignments in
various types of stores, factories
and construction sites and has been
assigned as part of a mobile patrol
responsible for the security of 52
schools in the school system.
More than 75 made-for-TV movies
will be presented by the networks
(ABC, CBS, and NBC) this season.
“They include such ‘top-name per-
formers as Lucille Ball, Raymond
Burr, Farrah Fawcett, Dennis
Weaver, Ellen Burstyn, and Tony
. Curtis. Catering to the broad inter-
ests of the television audience, these
movies range from Hollywood
remakes and biographies. to ones
dealing with social issues. To give
the average TV viewer an idea of
what to expect this 1985-86 season in
~ ‘the live of made-for-TV movies,
here is a partial, selective list.
Lucile Ball
stars in her first
TV drama,
“‘Stone Pillow’ as
a New York City
bag lady who ref-
uses to relinquish
her independence
when a young
social worker
tries to convince
“her to get off the
streets.
“Out of the Darkness,” based on
New York City’s Son of Sam mur-
ders, stars Martin Sheen as the
detective who helps crack the case.
Sheen also stars in ‘‘Shattered Spir-
its,” a drama about alcoholism and
denial.
“Picking Up the Pieces” casts
Margot Kidder, James Farentino
a drama about the effects of divorce
on a child.

‘Living Arrows,’”’ a touching
drama about a woman who recon-
ciles with her ailing mother-in-law,
and “The Pete Fray Story,” a story
of a one-armed major league base-
ball player, will also be telecast.
Soap opera fans can see the
“queen of the soaps,” Susan’ Lucci
(“All My Children”), as the Prin-
cess in the movie entitled, ‘Mafia
Princess.”
In the area of fantasy, ABC offers
viewers, ‘The Further Adventures
of the Ewoks’’ produced by George
Lucas of “Star Wars” fame.
Other movies that might be worth
watching are ‘‘Who Hears the
Child’s Cry?” with Lindsay Wagner
niles; ‘‘Copacabana,” a musical
inspired by Barry Manilow’s hit
song; “Lost in London,” featuring
Ben Vereen and Emmanuel Lewis;
‘‘Casanova,’”’ starring Richard
Chamberlain as the 18th century
heartthrob; Bruce Boxleitner and
Barbara Hershey in ‘‘Passion
Flower,”” a mystery; and ‘‘The
Times of My Life,” Betty Ford's
story of cancer and drug depend-
ence produced by David Wolper.
Regarding remakes, TV viewers
are offered ‘‘Stagecoach,” John
Ford's 1939 classic western with
Johnny Cash, Kris Kristoffersen and
Waylon Jennings; ‘‘I Dream of
Jeannie: 15 Years Later” with Bar-
bara Eden recreating her role as
everyone's favorite genie; ‘Return
to Mayberry” with Andy Griffith,
Don Knotts, Ron Howard and Jim
acetaminophen
Nabors reprising their roles, and
“The Return of Perry Mason.”
Rosemary Clooney and Bonie
Franklin are paired up in ‘Sister
Margaret and the Saturday Night
Ladies.” Robert Conrad and David
Soal co-star in “The Gold Crew,” a
film based on an American Trident
sub, in‘ which a pschological drill
goes beserk and threatens to set of
a third world war.
Last of all, network TV will air
the three-hour dramatization of the
story of Beatle John Lennon and
wife Yoko Ono in ‘Imagine: The
Story of John and Yoko.”

The merger of Portland National
Bank with First Eastern Bank, N.A.
became effective at the close of
business on Friday, Oct. 18. As of
Monday, Oct. 21, The Portland
National Bank, locted in Northamp-
regional office of First Eastern
Bank, the principal asset of the $1.2
billion First Eastern Corp. which is
headquartered in Wilkes-Barre,
Luzerne County.
